  1. Heya, honeysalt. Congrats on the NYU waitlist. It's an accomplishment in and of itself. I received my official rejection notification from NYU for dramatic writing yesterday by that good ol' "check this link email." However, I was on the NYU waitlist myself last year. Of course (as is evident), space didn't open up, so I didn't get pulled (I received the official let-down sometime toward the end of September). However, I believe that there were waitlisters who were pulled sometime in May. So, my fingers are crossed for you (if that is where you want to go). I also didn't receive a phone interview like other applicants before I was waitlisted last year. Best of luck to you and everyone else still waiting for notifications from other schools.
  2. New addition to the Yale rejection pile raising her hand here. The New School too. Got them both yesterday. Well, onward and sideways.
  3. I'm struggling with the same quandary. My gut tells me to hold out just a little bit longer, answers will come soon. Of course, let's see how my gut feels by the end of the day...It's gonna be a long one. Don't know how I'd be able to hold out if I had parental units involved in the madness. Still, answers will probably come from many schools at least by the middle/end of March, so maybe give it just a bit more time. We'll have to wait to see if I'm able to take my own advice.
  4. Hi Amy Beth, Don't feel like you were rambling. The information you provided is MUCH appreciated. Thanks! I certainly hope you get the opportunity to just step out your door in bare-feet and walk the one block it takes to get you to the Drama program building. Best of luck, and I second that "Gah!"
  5. Hi Amy Beth, welcome to the thread. Looks like we're all still waiting. Oh, and honeysalt, just echoing Amy Beth's thanks on the info from The New School. I was wondering, Amy Beth, because you are applying to The New School for your MFA, after completing your undergrad there, you obviously think highly of the program. I was wondering (if you're comfortable) if you could let us know a little something about your thoughts and experiences, an insider's perspective on the program.
  6. I LOVE Black Books. I haven't met anyone else who's even heard of it. Have you seen Spaced?
  7. Hi, honeysalt. Hopefully this doesn't mean too much, in the sense that we probably shouldn't start panicking yet. I know that a lot of programs let their directing students know something long before they have even finished reviewing dramatic/playwriting applicants. MFA programs seem to be notoriously slow when it comes to us. But when you think about it, imagine all of that reading the admissions committee has to do, yikes!
  8. Me too! Have heard nothing yet, but I can say that the financial aid application process is a...How can I put this delicately?...I can't. It's a major pain in the rear...but what can ya do?
  9. Hi dampka. Another MFA playwriting hopeful here. I have heard nothing yet. If I may ask, where did you apply? Here's the run-down for me: Yale School of Drama Tisch NYU The New School Boston University
