  1. Who else is part of the Berkeley bloodbath?
  2. Hoping UCSD and Michigan release today or tomorrow!
  3. Thanks everyone! And yeah, I'm bummed Berkeley didn't send anything, but it's okay.
  4. Thank you! And yes, it's a $21,000 stipend plus money from RA/TA positions.
  5. I claim the Pittsburgh admit Anyone else get in?
  6. Congrats on Berkeley as well, @needavacation! I have no changed status either, so I've likely been rejected from there :/
  7. I see a third Rochester acceptance in the results. Do any Rochester insiders know if they sent out all of the acceptances?
  8. I hear ya. Every time my phone vibrates i think its an email from one of the schools and then it's always some newsletter I signed up for.
  9. Congrats to the Missouri admits!
  10. I wouldn't be surprised if there was another batch tomorrow - terefere is the only one to report, and I'm sure if anyone else got a decision they would certainly post it on the results page.
  11. I think the quote's catching on among other applicants. Congrats to the Michigan State admit!
  12. Congrats, by the way! Rochester's a really good school.
  13. I hope that's the case. If I recall right, they send it in batches over the course of a day.
  14. It is? Mine still just says "submitted."
  15. Who else is part of the Wisconsin bloodbath?
  16. Duke has a tendency to either release on January 31 or February 1, so today is likely.
  17. Good luck to everyone who applied to Duke! I'm pulling for all of you. Are there any other schools rumored to make a decision today?
  18. @shane94, I think we get the point.
  19. I'm sorry that my response frustrated you, I did not intend to make anyone feel bad. I have been following this thread and I was just putting in my two cents. I'm not even quite sure where we have disagreement (I agree that AdComs should de-emphasize it, since it has little bearing on grad student success), or how I was policing anyone in any way by merely stating an opinion. I said nothing discouraging anyone from having a conversation.
  20. I think this conversation has been a little derailed. I agree that graduate schools should place less emphasis on the GRE, as it is not representative of the overall ability of graduate students to succeed in the program. However, we don't live in such a world where graduate programs are going to agree, and we shouldn't act according to how we wish the process operated, but rather how it actually does. As long as admissions committees are inundated with applications, the GRE will be used as a screening tool. Different schools will have different cutoffs, and we should adjust our expectations accordingly. Maybe when some of us are on these committees themselves, we can move the charge to de-emphasize GRE scores, but that's about all we can do.
  21. Congrats @orb_cz! It feels like today is the eye of the storm when it comes to admissions decisions. This coming week is going to be huge for all of us. I wish everyone the best of luck, and to stay strong.
  22. Congrats to the new admits to Penn State, UBC, Ohio State, LSE, and UCL! I'm going to play devil's advocate here about the Yale rejection - while it is strange that this person and only this person posted any sort of decision regarding Yale, I am hesitant to call this person a troll. Trolls don't usually report being rejected from a place.
  23. Yes, they were email communications, and I did cite Foreign Affairs (I'm in comparative politics). It is quite early, which surprised me. My status hasn't changed on the website either. I would imagine the early notice was for people nominated for the fellowship. The rest of the acceptances seem to go out over a three week period in February as per other years.
