Management programs typically include both OB and Strategy (and sometimes Entrepreneurship as well). They may have some collaboration in those areas, whereas a strictly OB program is less likely to have any influence from Strategy.

A couple of my friends who applied to Michigan strategy were put on a waitlist. Have you checked the Michigan "friends" website? I saw my rejection decision there about a week before I got an email. I wonder if the strategy folks aren't going to send out emails, opting instead just to post the decisions. Sounds like that one's not going to work out, but good luck elsewhere!

Anybody have any information about OB/Management applications for Harvard, MIT, INSEAD, LBS, Duke, Michigan St., Yale, or Columbia? I applied to 17 programs so I've heard from a bunch but nothing from these. Some of my friends have interviewed with some (Harvard, INSEAD, LBS, Duke) in strategy but I haven't heard anything about the OB side.

In my experience, the correlations are difficult to make because of the differences in the two tests. The GRE Verbal is much more based on vocabulary, whereas the GMAT is more reading comprehension and sentence structure. The GRE Quant is much more math-based; it tests your knowledge of algebra, statistics, geometry, etc. The GMAT Quant is more of a problem-solving test; if you can find the loopholes, you won't have to do as much math. So, for example, I did much better (about 20 percentile points better) on the GRE Quant because my background is in math and I wanted to work out all of the GMAT problems, but because the point is to skip the math and look for the quick solutions, it made the GMAT tougher.
