  1. Hmmmm I know that at certain schools, they would consider both scores (if you send both), and consider the highest one. Not sure how it works at Berkeley, but that could be something to look at on their website. Maybe try the department's email and contact them chegrad@cchem.berkeley.edu
  2. Once I'm done with the GRE, all will be well in the universe again. Did a lot this summer: finalized school application list, created first rough draft of SOP, studied arduously for the GRE and am finishing up my internship!

  3. Thanks for the advice!! Will take note of your tips
  4. Good afternoon Scheduled to take the GRE in 10 days Studied using the Official Guide, 5 lb book, Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning books, and scanned through the Manhattan Prep Reading Comp and Essays guide. Took a couple of practice tests to evaluate where I was at. The Verbal is okay (not extremely concerned, just want to do okay) and my Quant score ranges at ~85th percentile. I'd like to get at least a 165 - 168 on the Quant section, seeing that I'm applying to an Engineering PhD program. I've been working through Magoosh Vocabulary flashcards and are working through Advanced words now, with review every day. I've also been putting together summaries for each different kind of section so that I make improvements going through this next week. After I finish taking the Manhattan Prep tests (which, might I admit, are a bit more challenging than the PowerPrep tests), I'm going to take my second PowerPrep exam. My question is: what can I do to make observable changes at this point to my potential GRE score? Am I on the right track in terms of making summaries and word review? If there is anything else that I can do, what do you suggest?
