The NSF GROW - what to expect and when to expect it?

Hi all, New to GradCafe. I plan on applying to NSF GROW this year to study at ETH in Switzerland starting next June/July. Just wondering if you all have any advice and/or are willing to share tips for a successful proposal. Further, wondering if any of you might have an idea of how large/competitive the applicant pool is(?) Thank you!
