  1. You mean like the standard "thanks for submitting your application email" or actually heard some news back from?! I haven't heard anything from anywhere except the confirmation emails that say they got my application and it's under review haha... As far as USC goes, I'm pretty sure they are one of the schools that gets back to candidates pretty late aka last week in Feb/ early March. Also, they definitely respond in waves. That's really all I know about the acceptance process at USC. altikr25, unfortunately I know nothing about UPenn... I'm feeling that we should be hearing back from programs that interview soon though. I'm in the same boat as you, past boards show that some applicants had interviews scheduled with Albany the first week in Feb so hopefully we will hear something by next week!
  2. Wow that seems like a pretty late notification...when we're JJ apps due?
  3. Omg! Can any of the northern schools get back to applicants?! Lol Congrats on hearing from UF you guys!
  4. Has anyone who applied to Albany heard anything about interviews yet?! It looks like they usually conduct their interviews the first week of Feb. so I feel like they should be contacting applicants soonish!
  5. ThesisTerror, did you end up applying to Northeastern?
  6. Nope! I feel like I've applied to all the late deadline schools lol. NE, Albany, American, Delaware, Indiana Congrats on getting in!! That's so great that they let their applicants know so quickly!
  7. I actually didn't apply there, I'm just trying to get an idea of turn around times! I'm attached at the hip to my email hoping to hear anything! Haha I haven't heard from anywhere I've applied... I submitted all my applications a month early so I feel like I've been waiting forever even though two of my schools deadlines haven't even passed yet. Were you accepted to FSU?
  8. Thanks Pennywise! PhD, I assume that means you received an invite? Congrats! Now I'm even more anxious even though none of my applications are technically due yet!
  9. Any info on Delaware, American, NE, or Indiana? :D
  10. I think all of us have that same fear! I've just submitted 3 of my applications though and it feels great for it to be out of my hands! Most of the schools I'm applying to really give no indication of what they are looking for beyond the standard GRE and GPA preferences, but even then most of the schools say that these things alone will not determine acceptance or rejection.
  11. Glad to see someone else joined the conversation! I guess I can update a bit about my original comment. I took the GRE and did worse than expected haha (I hate standardized tests!) 152Q 158V 4.5AW. I also switched out Temple for Indiana Univeristy on my list of prospective programs. I'm almost done with the application process, so that is exciting! Just writing all of my personal statements and then I will be submitting! Aiming to submit a month early for all programs. Although I am really hating the process of writing my personal statement. I feel so cheesy.
  12. Honestly, from what I'be read stalking the old forums, if I were you I would retake the GRE... Your analytical writing score is below average and although 310 is a great cumulative score UMD is still considered the top PhD program for criminology. The average score for acceptance to these programs is normally a 312 and many programs use the GRE scores as a preliminary sorting measure. That being said, they may not even get to the section of your application that shows you received an A in stats. On the plus side, lack of research activity didn't seem to be a huge factor in the old forums!
  13. So you've been lonely in this thread for a while! I've been stalking all of the old threads trying to get and idea of what PhD programs are looking for as far as GRE scores and research experience. Stats: Undergrad GPA: 3.0 Grad GPA: 3.85 Master's (University of South Carolina aka the real USC!) thesis, member of one research team, some data experience. No publications, but working to turn my thesis into a pub. No GRE scores yet, taking the test in one month. Applying to: SUNY Albany Northeastern Delaware Temple American
