  1. Hmm, that's weird. Is it possible that there's a time zone mix up? I had a phone interview scheduled a few weeks ago, and only on the day of did I realize the school was 1 hour behind me! I would have been freaking out had I not realized.
  2. Is the person who posted an MSU acceptance in the Results section around here? If so could you please PM me? Thank you!!

  4. Call ETS as soon as possible! They will re-send the scores for free. I had a similar problem with one of my schools, for some reason my GRE scores were received by the school, but failed to be linked up to the rest of my application. I was able to fix the problem by calling ETS and the grad secretary at the school.
  5. Huh. Well, I guess no news is good news? For now, anyway.
  6. I also applied to Penn State and haven't heard anything.
  7. "What made you decide to come here over another program?" --that one gets some interesting responses
  8. Well StudentDoctor is one, they have a thread specifically for interview invites here.
  9. Hey there! I also applied to Lehigh, and have not heard back. However, from reading this forum and others, I do know their interview is being held this Friday. I'm not sure if they'll have another interview date. It might be worth it to contact them if they're high on your list.
  10. I've had two school psych interviews so far this application season. Here are some of the questions I've been asked: -What are your research interests? -Do you see your interests changing during your graduate studies? -What do you want to do after you get your degree? -How did you become interested in school psychology? -What do you think a school psychologist does? -What are some strengths you would bring to the program? -Where do you have more room to learn? That's all I can remember, hope it helps
  11. Nope, not a peep form Cornell as far as I know. Last year they sent out notifications around late Feb-early March (according to the results page), so we'll probably be waiting a while. Minnesota just popped up on the results page here, someone got rejected by the ICD via website. I've been refreshing ApplyYourself all day, going slightly crazy...
  12. We'll I was thinking I'd contact my POI, since she's the one who informed me that I'm wait-listed in the first place. I think I'll wait a few weeks and see where the cards fall, it's still pretty early.
  13. I've been placed on the wait list at one of my top choices, but I've also been admitted to another program (my other top choice). Should I let the program that wait-listed me know that I've been admitted elsewhere? I'm hoping that doing so would make me a more attractive candidate, but I could see it backfiring. Any advice?
  14. YES to all of the above. Ann Arbor has a ton of great food to offer. Middle Eastern (Jerusalem Garden, Sheesh, Pita Kabob), Indian (Raja Rani), Ethiopian (The Blue Nile), Sushi (Sadako, Sushi.com), Pizza (Pizza House, Cottage Inn), and pretty much everything in between. If your boyfriend likes hole-in-the-wall type places, Ashley's is a great one. It's right on campus, and they have good food and a crazy beer selection. The areas closer to campus are definitely more dominated by undergrads (around South university and State Street). Main Street area is only a few blocks away, and it's an older crowd (in a good way, haha). Tons of great restaurants and bars, as well as music venues (The Ark, The Blind Pig, Live at PJ's). The Arb is a huge park right on campus, it's great to hang out there in the warmer months. I think you'd really enjoy it here, let me know if you have other questions!
  15. Has anyone heard anything from the Institute of Child Development at Minnesota?
  16. I'm not sure if they're done extending invites. I got an e-mail from them last week, the interview date is 2/14, so they could potentially be sending more out.
  17. I wanted to create a thread for School Psych applicants, PhD or specialist level. Anyone else out there? Who's been lucky enough to get any interviews, or even acceptances?
  18. I also have one Embark app. I didn't find anywhere that had status updates, I had to contact the graduate secretary.
  19. YES YES YES send your CV. It shouldn't upset them, and it's a nice way to summarize all of your accomplishments.
  20. Got my first interview!

Wow, that's a long lead time. Getting an interview is pretty good though - that means they're very interested in you. Good luck!

  21. I actually not attending yet, still applying. I'll let you know one year from now ::fingers crossed::
  22. I think they're referring to UROP or something similar. I don't think it'll hurt you to leave it blank.
  23. Four applications submitted, seven more to go...

  24. In the header I put: My Name - Statement of Purpose - Degree - Department Name Then I had: Page X of X in the footer.
