I just wanted to mention that if GRE scores are really the sticking point, there are school that either don't require them at all or don't pay attention to them if your GPA is above a certain point. I'm in California, and I know of at least two programs that work like this: CSU East Bay and CSU Sacramento. It might be worth a try to focus on applying to schools that don't use GRE as the determining factor.

True, but East Bay is extremely impacted and Sacramento takes more than 90% of their own students.

One of the SLPs at my hospital mentioned that CSULB never even bothered to send him a rejection letter.  I know I've heard that from another person, too.

Well that is kind of ridiculous considering the fact that I spent so much time applying there and they can't even bother to send a letter notifying me... Hopefully I'm still in the running,  I'm crossing my fingers.

I saw that someone posted an auto response from from CSUF department head said all admission decisions had been mad those who are on the waitlist have that listed on CSDCAS. Does anyone know where you would see that on CSDCAS?

Also, I know Long Beach has accepted and rejected people, I haven't heard a peep..hoping that is a good sign..but very unlikely

I just checked CSDCAS for CSUF and I didn't see anything... I don't know if that's a good sign or I just couldn't find it? I also haven't heard from CSULB either. I haven't seen any rejections on here, but trying to stay positive!

No.  I called the department yesterday and they said they'll be sending letters for the next few weeks.  So far I've been seeing people with acceptance letters on gradcafe, but no rejections or waitlists.  I haven't received an acceptance letter myself, so I'm going to assume I either got rejected or waitlisted.

Okay, thanks for replying. Hoping for the best!

  5. Hello speechies,

I am trying to call schools to see if they received my transcripts. I have emails saying that the transcripts were completed. I don't know if that means it was received because the email says it was completed a day after I sent the transcripts which doesn't seem right. A lot of the schools I am trying to get a hold of are not answering. Should I call the department coordinator?

  6. Hello speechies,

I am currently writing my personal statement and I am trying to figure out how to address the letter. Should I indent each new paragraph? Should I start the letter with "Dear..." and end with sincerely, ...? Should I just label the letter "Personal Statement- 'name' '"?

Any tips will help! Thank you!
