  1. Oh don't worry about that. For some reason I thought you meant something more long winded. You'll be fine for sure.
  2. That would have hurt you if anything. And yeah, apparently typos and minor mistakes are usually overlooked. They read those things fast and won't notice minor stuff. Someone here said they used the wrong school name and still got into Harvard (?)
  3. More Penn people have posted on the results section, as well as some UNC-CH people
  4. I have not. I wouldn't be too antsy about it yet. I think we'll start hearing back in a couple weeks.
  5. There are dozens of us. DOZENS! My people will be oppressed and marginalized no more. Also this forum has had neuro threads in the past. It keeps everything less cluttered and easier to search.
  6. Since the bio thread should be focused on molecular, pathological, etc. I started this thread for neuroscience people to talk about results. So far it looks like only a couple people have posted on the survey so not many invites have been sent out, as you'd expect. Did anyone else apply already? Are there more deadlines in the future for anywhere?
  7. I applied to DBBS neuroscience. I probably have a better shot at Columbia at this point...
  8. That WUSTL response is pretty amazing because if you can get in there you can get in pretty much anywhere. Also it's been like a week since the deadline
  9. Seppuku Also it's another forum at the bottom of the board
  10. Lol I found three different errors in one of my SOP's, since I used basically the same master essay for each program. Luckily I caught them for my latter applications
  11. Lol chill. I doubt that number's based on anything substantive. Quality of research is obviously more important than some arbitrary number of years. I mean there's probably a minimum threshold for time in which they consider significant work plausible (Some schools have minimum length requirements) but it's not like they're going to be like "Oh this guy had 2.5 years over this girl's 2 years. Sign him up."
  12. Dude to be fair. I did literally miss the deadline to apply to graduate and had to exploit some loophole to save myself...
  13. I'm sure it helps if you have something really good to say. But all in all I don't think it's a dealbreaker for anyone unless it leaves a bad impression
  14. Oh, then yeah it's department specific. It's probably one of the least important things for my program.
  15. I'm pure neuro but I happen to be applying to a cognitive psych program at Delaware. Can I be friends with you guys
  16. I suppose I'll write now so I can copy it later when I get results. 17. Source? I know it's important for background-specific scholarships but I've never seen heard this.
  18. Pour up, drank. Head shot, drank. Sit down, drank. Stand up, drank. Pass out, drank. Wake up, drank. Faded, drank. Faded, drank.
  19. Congratulations. When was their deadline?
  20. Nope. My school only has an online unofficial one without the name (which is what I sent) and an official one. Now I have to find a scanner...
  21. If it's a few days late they probably will stlll take it, but email the coordinators to let them know. My last recommender submitted his at 11:59 on the dot. What the fuck
  22. No one received my GRE scores that were sent weeks ago. What is this I don't even Edit: Wait they probably did receive my scores but never linked them because I hadn't submitted my application... Right?
  23. I was about to turn in my applications and I got preemptively rejected from every place with an email saying "Don't even bother." I have a 4.0, 169/170 GRE, six years of research experience with five first author publications, and everything I've done so far and everything I plan to do aligns exactly with the programs I applied to. Did this happen to anyone else? Application season is so stressful
  24. Someone just implied that my SOP is a mess and that it would probably have to be rewritten. Is there anyone who can help me salvage it? It's for a biological sciences Ph.D.
  25. These fucking assholes keep telling me to drive everywhere and pick people up from airports and buy a million things for dinner on Thursday. This bullshit is going to ruin my application and make me homeless because I can't finish my statement of purpose
