  1. This particular lab has two PI, so I'm thinking of asking PI #2 instead of only PI #1 (both already offered to write LoRs should I need them).
  2. Maybe as a substitute teacher or similar part time work where you don't have a lot of hours nor have to generate a very detailed lesson plan (typically).
  3. If I could I would avoid it, unless you aren't completely sure. Life has a way of delaying things.
  4. I'm wondering if its worth staying in an internship if I'm not generating much data/getting published in almost 1.5yr. Is it a serious negative on an application to not have publication in that amount of time? I graduated yrs ago from undergrad and am hoping to apply to a PhD program in neuro in two more years. I haven't generated much data yet due to paperwork and having to develop the protocol for the procedure I'm doing. I was in another lab and in half a year I was able to grab a publication and an unfortunate publication miss (granted the culture and publication rate was entirely different in this lab vs my current one).
  5. So one of my LoR writers is no longer in a state where she can write LoRs for anyone. Does it look reasonable on an app to have two LoRs from one lab or should I look elsewhere (grab another internship etc) for my third?
