I wasn't asking a question. The professors are good and the students are smart in VCS. Job placement is a real issue to consider though. That aspect guided my applications, and I haven't gotten any acceptances, unfortunately. Rochester is definitely not known for it's humanities but there are some really, really smart professors in the English department: a MacArthur fellow (Joanna Scott), a Breadloaf program professor (Jennifer Grotz) and a few flat-out geniuses in James Longenbach, Ken Gross and John Michael. I'll end my spiel on that, but you're right. The job placement is not great.
