Is anyone else getting crazy nervous? The wait is killing me!
Me too! When do you think we're going to find out? My guess is March 11th based on past years since it's a Friday and there's an extra day this year from the leap year.

U of Alberta applicants: they posted profiles of current students in the program on this blog, which I found interesting and helpful! https://ualbertaslp.wordpress.com

Has anyone else on here got a BEd degree? I just found out that ORPAS doesn't consider courses from BEd programs, and so instead they're using my first year courses (when I was in a BSc program) to calculate my subGPA, combined with some pre-requisite courses I've taken as a non-degree student...which brings my subGPA down from a 3.75 to a 3.56...anyone else in the same boat as me? I think I might cry....
I'm currently in a BEd program. Honestly, I wasn't even expecting them to include my BEd marks just because the program is so different from undergrad and is not really mark focused at all. All the schools outside of Ontario include your BEd marks though.

Ooh, I dunno when this happened, but my McGill application status changed to "In Review"! It's just a tiny thing but I am excited.
Mine changed on Jan. 29th. It was exciting

Has anyone else received a confirmation email from U of Alberta with their Bear Tracks login? I just got an email about how to access Bear Tracks but I never got the confirmation login email.
ETA: never mind just received it!

Before this round of admissions I used to creep around past years' gradcafe threads. I remember people as late as Feb 9th still waiting to hear from Dal -- all down to Dal being backed up, nothing wrong with their applications. You'll definitely hear from them, like I said, I got a message saying there were items missing, so even if there was something wrong, they'd get in touch.
According to previous years' threads, Dal starts the first round of acceptance around March 13th. Likewise, McGill notifies people starting on March 12th (and they call you -- I've made a personal note to NOT set my phone on silent that day). U of Alberta started sending out acceptances on March 3rd last year. Those are the only ones I know because those are the ones I applied to. So yeah, significantly earlier than April or May, at least if you get accepted in the first round.
Thanks! I wonder when U of Alberta will send out acceptances this year since they delayed the deadline this year. I heard a couple years ago people didn't find out until the first week of April.

Anyone know when Dal sends out acceptances? Their website says April or May which seems way too long to wait...

I got my letter from Dal confirming my SLP application is complete. Unfortunately, I was a dunce and did not notice that they want TWO transcripts per school, so they used the one transcript per school from my Audiology application to fulfill the SLP quota. Hopefully they will be chill about the other transcripts being late for Aud. Honestly I don't understand why they need two. Like, consider using a photocopier, maybe? I'm not made out of money.
Don't mind me, I'm just grumping.
I was frustrated about them wanting two too. I ended up having to order 4 transcripts from one of my schools since they wanted 2 before the grades came out and 2 after and they charged full price for each one. After sending transcripts from all 4 schools I attended including a US school it totalled to a lot of money!

Hey everyone, I know that Dalhousie is really slow at updating the application summary progress, and mine only has the application fee listed (everything else is empty). I'm wondering if anyone else is in the same boat?
Or, if your summary is complete, when did you submit the application/how long did it take to update?
Thanks!

I just got the email this morning! I submitted my application on the last day so you should be getting your email soon! (Also, nothing was updated before the email and after the email everything was updated with the various dates they got things, and some dates were even from December)

Has anyone applied to scholarships or are there any we can apply to? Does any of the schools have entrance scholarships that you don't have to apply to?

u dont click. just put your mouse over the icon. it says (3.0, 70%, First Class)
regarding the degree certificate, i dont see a req for that, i only uploaded the transcipt
Did you put your cumulative gpa or subgpa in that box?
-
On the U of Alberta app was anyone able to click on the little "i" info icons next to some of the upload buttons and boxes in the education section? I wasn't able to click on them and wasn't sure what we're supposed to put in the GPA/Standing/Rank box and if we have to upload a degree certificate?

Does anyone know how long it takes for McGill to contact your references after you submit your application? Is it an automated process or manual?
-
How did everyone format their personal statements in ORPAS? Did you indent the paragraphs, put spaces between them or just put the next paragraph on the next line? It uses up characters to put spaces between them and indent, but I don't know if starting on the next line is enough.

Hello everyone! I'm trying to complete McGill's online application, and none of my content is saving. I spend all this time filling out the prerequisite information, hit save and then moved on to the next page. When I went back, the prerequisite page was empty! Has anyone else run into this?
You have to fill out every box on the page for it to save. I just put a "." in the boxes where you write your responses to the questions since I haven't written them yet.

So I guess that means I have to get the responses to the questions done early...

Does anyone applying to McGill know if you have to submit your entire application before they send an email out to your referees or if there is a way to do that before submitting your application?
-
Hey everyone, I decided to post here because when I was applying last year, I found it useful to talk to people already in the program and ask questions. I am in my first year at U of T.
Good luck everyone!
Thanks for your post! Would you mind sharing your stats? Or if there was anything in your application that you think helped you get in?

Hi everyone, I've been lurking this thread for the last little while and am finally making my first post. I'll be applying to all the Ontario schools as well as McGill and am starting to freak out over applications! Best of luck to everyone!
I have a question about the reference process on ORPAS, hopefully one of you lovely people would know more about this. I understand that we provide ORPAS with the contact information of our referees and it generates a Confidential Assessment form for them. I am wondering if we have to print this off and give it to our references or if we can simply email it to them? Also, once they have completed the form, can they upload it online to ORPAS or will they have to mail it in? I ask because I know it will be much easier for my referees to upload them online rather than by snail mail.
For ORPAS, you can email them the form but they have to print it off and mail it in.

Does anyone know how to put in both your majors on ORPAS if you did a joint major?
-
Ive been putting no URL available
I read on the application booklet that you need to put a link to the course description in that box. I just put a link to the course calendar that matched the year I took the course.

Are we supposed to use that number to log into anything?
