My girlfriend was able to login to the award site and it said she won. I guess it's real! Not April Fools
Well I guess that's it for me then. Congrats to your girlfriend!

according to the facebook page:
We expect notifications to be issued to all parties (awardees, alternate selections, and all other applicants). Alternate selectees will receive award notifications as initial award offers are declined. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to e-mail us at NDSEG@asee.org or give us a call at (202) 649 - 3831.

Hey guys, has anyone heard from Brown PhD neuroscience program? I'm curious because i haven't heard anything at all since i send the application. I wanted to make my final decision soon, but not without knowing about brown.
Also, I was accepted to Albert Einstein College of Medicine. If anyone has any comments on what you think of AECOM or anything you know at all I would appreciate it!! I know it ends up being a personal decision, but I'm interested in reading other opinions!
Thanks!!
Congrats! I don't know anything, but there is also a neuroscience thread you might have more luck with.

E/E, E/E, E/VG. Honorable mention. All very glowing reviews, no criticisms. Y U NO AWARD?! haha
This whole letter ranking thing is so weird... Don't know how I squeaked through. Congrats on your HM and great reviews though - that's very impressive!

NSF-GRFP results came out today!
In one of life's great ironies I got the award writing as if I was going to a school I got rejected from

Does anyone know if our schools/PIs are informed that we won the award? I remember entering my program director's email address in the application but I don't know if NSF will email them directly.
No idea - I put a school that I'm not going to be going to...

(Awarded), E/VG, VG/E, E/VG, 4.0 GPA, no publications
Congrats to everyone else!

Not NSF, but I just got a call that I got the DOE CSGF. I'm absolutely in shock. I didn't expect to hear back this early, let alone hear that I got it! Definitely reduces the stress for waiting on the GRFP.
Congrats! That's terrific!

quick in general - if you got nominated for a fellowship, they would usually put it on the admission letter/ the email?
I think that's it for me for this application cycle. good luck to everyone!
Not necessarily. I was notified of a fellowship a couple weeks after they offered me acceptance at one school.

For writing emails to decline offers, is it alright to not say where you plan on attending?
One school responded that the NIH requires them to report where we decided to go.

So... American canceled my flights to Rockefeller and rebooked me on a flight that left today... at 2:15 pm. So I called them and I literally couldn't get a flight into New York without paying $300 more. I cancelled my flights and got a refund and am not going to Rockefeller.
Weirdly enough, I feel relieved. I knew I didn't want to live in NYC. And now, I get to email Vanderbilt tomorrow morning to accept!
sorry about the circumstances, but glad that you have a great school that you're excited about! congrats!
What's their excuse?!

I also think that LOR's can play a really big role, so try to make sure your letter writers really know you and your strengths.
