In my letter, they said that they will discuss possible funding opportunities, which means nothing really. I hope you get funding.

You got the letter today, too? I was accepted yesterday, but received the welcome letter today. Of course, the orientation is next week. I am considering attending. I have gotten an offer from another university. I was told that it is not likely that I will receive funding because it is very competitive and only a few students receive it. Are you considering attending UCSB?

It's funny how we both posted about the UCSB. I have applied for the Literacy and Language program. You?

I am still waiting for two more programs' decisions. I got accepted to the UCSB without funding (PhD in education). Nothing about funding was mentioned in the decision/welcome email. It seems like it is quite common that the UCSB does not offer funding to new students. Hmm...what would you do?
