  1. I still haven't figured out how to combine quotes (n00b) so I'm posting again... Good luck! I wouldn't be surprised if they send them out in waves. Don't worry It's still really early in the process. I don't know when Mt Sinai is interviewing but if it helps with planning, I believe GSK's only interviews are Jan 12-14 : )
  2. Oops I didn't see this post until now. Sorry for the double posting. Yes! I just confirmed! Although they said travel information would be attached to the email and I didn't get any attachments... Time to inquire
  3. Hi! I got an email and had to log into my GSK account to confirm. Maybe you can check there just in case and also your spam inbox!! Good luck!! <3
  4. Also got Gerstner Sloan Kettering today if anyone else applied there! So happy to see the rolling waves coming in - good luck and good work to everyone! We should all take a moment to pat ourselves on the back haha
  5. AHHHH Uchicago Cancer Bio!!! I was literally hyperventilating when I saw you guys all got them in such quick succession!!! Maybe we'll see each other there?
  6. This forum is so nice to keep pinned and glance back at. Loving the return of positivity
  7. Just got a Vandy IGP invite (so this must be the second wave!) - they emailed. Very nice and cordial
  8. UMich, Stanford, Columbia, UChicago Yale all have great cancer research programs. Stanford especially for computational bio! I second all of the above also.
  9. I haven't seen any other Case Western / Cleveland Clinic Molecular Medicine applicants - but I got an interview today so they're working through them!!
  10. @Nero_Mustbethefeeling - I am also applying so take it w/ a grain of salt, but your profile looks really impressive - the IRTA especially! I'm interested in computational bio also so it'd be cool to talk about the process, I think. This might be too late but Yale and Stanford (where I'm applying) have some killer interdisciplinary programs also. Good luck!!
  11. Hey @Gram Positive Thanks so much!! I'm a Michigan native so I am very close I'm actually trying to get out of state and Case was at the top of my list during undergrad, so I'm definitely trying hard to up my chances for the MM program there I'm applying to Vanderbilt!! Thank you @StrongTackleBacarySagna (hell of a username you've got there!) - honestly your post was really encouraging to me as I've been slogging through my SOP hahah. Appreciate it!! Hi @adiJ - thank you for the encouragement! I actually repeated your statement about "safety" schools when discussing w/ some people this week... It made a lot of sense to shoot for places with best fit rather than chance (since chance is, as I've seen, pretty unpredictable...) I did end up dropping a few schools from the list... but not many. I'm pretty excited about most of the schools so I didn't want to completely give them up. yeah, my bank account won't be happy, but I'm thinking of it as an investment in the future. Gooby pls. Thank you @partydon'tstarttillIwalkin ! Lol these usernames make replying so much fun. I've been working on those so it's just fingers crossed very tightly and making sure I don't make any dumb mistakes from here on out!! I've said thanks many times, but I appreciate all your responses! This is by far the nicest forum I've been on to compare chances haha. Will update in the main thread and contribute as the path continues! ❤️
  12. Thanks so much for the input @Micecroscopy! It's really encouraging. I'm leaning toward Columbia b/c of location and might take Yale out of the picture. Probably not the best time to make huge decisions like these but... Hey! Carpe diem!
  13. I realize this is super late, but I'm finishing things up VERY late and would super appreciate any input on the decisions I've made! thanks so much in advance if anyone takes the time to read through this and comment!! 14. Hello all - it's SUPER late in the process but I'm finishing things up and would like to hear ANY thoughts. Am I aiming too high? *hyperventilates* Any opinions much appreciated in this trying time -- Undergrad Institution: Huge state school... top 80 nationally according to US News Major(s): Genomics/Molecular Genetics (BS), Global Public Health (BS)Minor(s): Bioethics and Japanese (two, separate)GPA in Major: 3.98/4.0Overall GPA: 3.99/4.0Position in Class: top 1%Type of Student: Domestic / Asian American / female (no points here)GRE Scores (revised/old version):Q: 158 (71st ish. not happy about this but no more time to remedy obviously)V: 166 (94th!)W: Just took so not sure... but pretty sure >4.5 at leastB: Didn't take (kicking myself for this)Research Experience: Have been working in the same lab for 4 yrs; started w/ molecular bio work on cell lines but have since transitioned into biostats/large database analysis.
