@gerryowen9 That's excellent to hear! Like I wrote earlier, the letter said I was in a 'top spot' on the list, but I wasn't sure if they just tell everyone that or not. I was accepted into the Literature and Cultural Theory program (like @A blighted one), but for the PhD. Gerry, would you mind if perhaps I PMed you with a few questions about the program? In particular I'd want to ask mostly about living in the area, especially on the UWM stipend (which is smaller than what I was offered by UCincinnati and USF, but it's a better ranked program so I'm not sure what to do, haha....).

Got an admission to University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee! I'm absolutely in awe, though I'm in a "top spot" on the TAship waitlist--and I can't go unless I get that funding.

@klader I did! I got the same deal you did, I think! Which is exciting though I'm a little worried about the cost of living in Tampa! We'll see. And I'm not sure about Open House, though I'd love to go: I'm currently up at UMaine getting my Master's, so getting there would be very difficult.

Just got another acceptance from USF for their PhD program in Literary and Cultural Studies! Like Cincinnati, this isn't a super famous program, but both of them are good fits for my somewhat odd research interests (the field I want to enter is barely 30 years old and doesn't have any real major players yet). I'm also, as I might have mentioned, kind of a tough sell as an applicant so I'm ecstatic! I never imagined having one acceptance, nevermind choices! Congrats to everyone who's been hearing back, though! You guys are an awesome bunch. Also @klader maybe we'll be USF buddies! I'm not sure where I'll end up yet but Herndl is a POI for me so I'm excited to possibly work with her.

I got accepted in UCincinnati on Friday, with a very kind email! I know it's not really a 'high-class' program, but I'm beyond excited, because I'd already received 3 rejections and 2 implied rejections! So I was certain I'd be rejected at every single other school I applied to. Basically, I'm delighted to have gotten a fully funded offer anywhere! A huge heavy weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Congrats to everyone who has gotten acceptances! We did it.
