  1. Hey all, I had been accepted to both GSPIA and Munk, and had accepted GSPIA before hearing from Munk. I have since accepted my offer from Munk and have rescinded my acceptance of the GSPIA offer. Hopefully this opens up a spot for anyone on a GSPIA waitlist or who has yet to hear. As well, how about those of us committed to Munk set up a FB page? Just an idea
  2. Just accepted to Munk as well. 5k in funding. Received this as I was starting my 4 month backpacking trip. Incredible feeling. Although, I am still hesitant to accept given financial concerns and having already secured an offer and supportive scholarship from GSPIA for 12k. Decisions, decisions .....
  3. Congrats! Check your email in the next couple of days. After I was accepted a few weeks ago to GSPIA, the funding email (along with forms to fill out for accepting or rejecting both the offer and scholarship), came about 2 days later.
  4. I've already received an acceptance from GSPIA, so it seems as if they're coming out earlier than expected. Munk is usually early to mid-March.
  5. I think it comes down to more varied employment opportunities. Munk (and I assume Balsillie), have more opportunities in the private sector, whereas GSPIA and NPSIA grads (generally) filter into the federal government and the foreign service etc. After applying to Munk, I was sent an email with their Alumni's employment stats. As you can see, more heavily skewed towards private sector: Where are MGAs Working? Quick Facts about MGA Alumni These percentages are based on alumni data for the MGA classes of 2012, 2013 and 2014 who are seeking full-time employment. 93% of those looking for work have jobs. 13% of our alumni are currently in full-time education, in JD or PhD programs.
  6. No, it's a valid concern! Don't worry, it tends to take the InfoWeb a while to update, you're prob fine. And yeah, I feel like if Munk were a little more affordable it would be my #1. But it's quite the price tag....
  7. Thanks! My first choice is between Munk and GSPIA. I'm in that potentially precarious position of accepting my GSPIA offer and sending the 500 dollar deposit before I even here from Munk (or Sciences Po). So that's a bit of a headache, but of course it's good to have at least one option at this stage. And with regards to your problems with InfoWeb, it can be a very slow process. I applied way back in early December, and my InfoWeb had not indicated that my documents had been received until late January. But after emailing the faculty of Soc Sci. they confirmed they were received. So maybe try sending an email?
  8. Just got an acceptance for uOttawa GSPIA. 12K in funding. Pretty happy about it...I'm between Munk/GSPIA and Sciences Po, although I've only heard from GSPIA. Anyone hear back from any Canadian schools yet?
  9. Sent my Munk application in the day it was due. Started the statements the day of as well! It really was a "I should really just apply to this program and see what happens" moment. Have also applied to GSPIA, and a couple European schools (SciencesPo and Prague). Not sure what to make of my chances... after converting my percentage grades to UofT's GPA, I hover around a 3.6-3.7? I do have two years exp. living abroad and working in S. Korea (although not in the field), but hopefully that helps. Good luck to everyone !
  10. Wow, already admitted? Congrats. Their applications don't even close until March 15th. I will be sending an application in the next few weeks. I would love to chat with you about the admission process, as I am also applying to Int. Security.
  11. Hey all, I have been doing some research on European IR schools, and have come across a very attractive program in Prague. In terms of affordability, location and curriculum, it appeals to me greatly. However, I am not sure of its reputation, given that I can't find much information on the school or the program online outside of the school/program website itself. It's the IDS program at the University of Economics, Prague :http://ids.vse.cz/program-info/program-description/ Has anyone come across this program, or heard anything about it? I am really drawn to it, but I am hesitant to apply given its seemingly low reputation. I hope I'm wrong.
  12. Applied to an MA PoliSci at Western and Ottawa thus far, I'm also applying to GSPIA at UOttawa, and possibly the Munk MGA at U of T. As for overseas, I found a very attractive and cheap program at the University of Economics, Prague in Czech Republic. Masters in International and Diplomatic Studies. Anyone else looking at IR/foreign affairs schools?
