Is it common to get an acceptance with no word on funding? They both said they are "figuring out funding" but it seems like most people found out their funding and acceptance at the same time.
Southern Methodist University - Accepted
University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee - Interview (this Saturday via the telephone)
University of Michigan - Rejected
University of Illinois at Chicago - Rejected
SAIC - nothing yet
Carnegie Mellon University - nothing yet (apparently they were going to start contacting people 10 days ago...)
I thought finishing my applications 2 months before the deadline would look good and alleviate my stress. I thought brushing up against the deadline would be anxiety inducing and I would be panicked that I wouldn't get things in in time.
I was so wrong. I had already been waiting for results for 2 months before most people even applied. If I don't get in anywhere and I end up doing this whole rigamarole again, I am going to submit on the day of the deadline. I am so tired of waiting for decisions ugghhh I'm so dumb ugghhh my stomach hurts.
Some interview questions I just got from my interview yesterday:
How did you go from your background (not art) to wanting to get an Art MFA?
How does your work fit into (specific modern art trends)?
Who is one artist that really resonated with you?
What would you want to accomplish during graduate school?
First time applying to graduate school. No interviews, rejections, or acceptances yet. Applying for video art/experimental film programs.
