Thanks, SW_Student!!  The thing is, that my status changed to "invited" a week ago, and from what I understand, it pretty much means you are accepted.  So, then, why no letter yet?!  Ugh!!!!!  I think, no matter what our situation (accepted, waitlisted), we are all in the same boat and want an answer NOW!!  lol.

I hope you hear soon also!! :)

I just got my acceptance in the mail today! The acceptance letter is dated Feb 21, which is around when ROSI changed. I'm sure yours will come soon!

    Hi!

I'm asking this for a BSW classmate of mine who doesn't have an account (I won't be applying until next year)....

....but for any UofT advanced standing applicants in the mental health and health stream, has your status on ROSI changed? My friend's still says "under review", but it sounds like a lot of people on here have had theirs say "decision made" already... are there different rounds of decisions? Or is it based on your specialization choice?

    Thanks! :)

Hi! I'm an advance standing applicant to the mental health and health stream, and my ROSI changed to Invited.  My SGS still says under review.

Congrats to all who have gotten acceptances!

You status will change to "under review" on ROSI once the school has your application.  If you get into the program, you status will change to "Invited" like the one showing below. You probably going to receive a package via mail before ROSI changes its status. Just remember a big package= You are in,  a small envelope = You are on  waitlist.

    Registration - Fall 2016 - SW MSW 2
Degree Master of Social Work (2 Yr) (SW MSW 2)
    Status Invited
Full-time or Part-time image Full Time
Session in which you entered program Fall 2016

According to several posts on last year's thread, on ROSI it should say "No Registration History" and change to "Invited" if accepted.  SGS should say "Under Review" and change to "Decision Made" once a decision is made.

    Hey guys!

Just a quick question... I'm getting a little worried because many are saying that their application status has changed to "under review" for U of T. Mine still says "No Registration History"... could this just be because I am a 2 year applicant? Or the volume of the applications? I got mine in well within the deadline. SGS just changed to "documents received" not that long ago.

Just have to calm my thoughts - it can be difficult not overthinking things like this when it comes to applications! Thanks!

Hey! If I'm not mistaken, I think when people are referring the status changing to "under review" they mean on their SGS admissions application (which will later change to decision made).  On my ROSI, it still says "No Registration History".

I was wait-listed last year as well, re-applying again, and I know UofT out of all MSW schools weighs pretty heavily on research experience. They are extremely big on evidence based practice and on-going research in the field of social work.

I had 0 research experience when applying last year (was mid-way through my thesis). Now I have completed my thesis and have been working full time as an RA so hopefully have more luck this time around.

A friend of mine is in the 2nd year of the program now and she had about 300 hours of RA experience and an A+ on her thesis. So it seems like that was enough to get her in (plus a good amount of volunteer experience and a 3.8 gpa).

I do have a friend who was accepted into the advance standing program at U of T with zero research experience.  She was initially waitlisted and then was accepted into the part time program.  I have no research experience either, so I'm just hoping my grades, experience, research methods grade, references and statement pull through for me. :S

Aww sorry to hear that. It's not a very good feeling, expecially when all our eggs were in one basket.

Yeah exactly :( Crappy feeling! I'm thinking lack of experience in the health care field was the main reason, particularly because your grades were so awesome! Thought you'd be in for sure. Sucks that it's so competitive!

Am sorry. I hope something else work out. What about Windsor for working professionals if you are working.

Thanks! Unfortunately I don't yet have the three years work experience. And I really would prefer distance ed given my family situation. Might be an idea for the future though :)

    Hi Everyone,

I have been put on the waitlist to Waterloo. I'm wondering if anyone knows what the chances are of getting an acceptance after being waitlisted?

Congrats on making the waitlist :) I would call and see if they can tell you where you are on the waitlist. That might give you a better idea!

I only just graduated with my BSW this summer so im defiantly lacking in the post bsw experience  (although Ive worked in child welfare in a capacity other then as a social worker for the last few years). My average is  89% so hopefully that makes up for a bit of lack of experience lol. I applied to Waterloo only (defiantly regretting this decision now though). Im half thinking if I dont get in...I might try New England University. I have heard its clinical stream is good, its all distance, accepted by casw, and they are still accepting fall applications....but its super expensive!

I also applied to only Waterloo.. if you don't get in, there's no way I will! lol.. I graduated 2015 as well with about an 85 average and my only post BSW experience is child welfare. I'm not feeling too good about my chances at this point! I also wonder how much weight is put on the supplementary application information? I'm so nervous! Good to know about New England Uni though!

I called on Thursday, and the lady I spoke with on the phone told me April. I feel like that is absurd, last year people heard in Feb. She also told me that all acceptances (1 and 2 year) go out at the same time.

So do you know people who got acceptances from Waterloo in the past? I really don't know what my chances are and now I'm feeling nervous having put all my eggs in one basket.  I likely have less work experience than many applicants.  I was really hoping to find out in March (or sooner) as I don't want to wait until April!!

MARCH! What a long time to wait. Thank you for your reply. Good luck with your application. Are you hoping for Part-time or Full Time?

Haha sorry to disappoint! I'm not looking forward to the wait either :( It's the only school I applied to, so I am banking on this one.  I applied to both part-time and full-time programs, so I am hoping for whatever I get!  Not too sure what I prefer at this point.  What about you?  And good luck to you too! :)

The application deadline for Waterloo's MSW program was today (Dec 1). Does anyone know when I might see an acceptance/rejection letter?

I asked this question and was told:

We hope to have our offers/waitlist/deny decisions available (it will be listed on your Quest log-in) during March/April 2016.  If you’re waitlisted, you may still be offered a place as late as the end of June, as places become available.
