  1. Not an official rejection, but I wasn't granted an interview, so it's pretty much a rejection. I only applied to one program this year, so I'm back at scratch. Thanks for for the insights! I KNOW my GRE is very low, especially for a PhD application, so that's my first step. Thinking back, I could strengthen my SOP a little more too, be a little more pointed and specific. I'll definitely be leaning more on this forum as well. I only got active after submitting my app, but it's a good resource for all the steps up to that point, as well. My mentor told me that she's known of people applying 3 years in a row and then gaining admission. This is one of my goals and it's something that I really want, so I'm all for applying at least one or two more seasons.
  2. Thanks for the heads up! I actually just sent an e-mail as well; now knowing the answer will make the response I get back less shocking. My plan going forward is retaking the GREs, restructuring my SOP, and applying to this school and a few more next season. I'll probably be in contact with the program at the end of the semester/over the summer (once their admission process is over) to get insight on my app and moving forward. Good luck everyone
  3. It may be too early to answer this, as acceptances are just now starting to roll in, but has anyone had success reapplying to a program the following year after being rejected? What steps did you take? New LORs? New SOP? Thanks in advance
  4. I only applied to this program, so I'll try again next year, along with a few other schools and definitely retake my GREs. I have a ton of experience and already have a Masters. My GRE scores are low, so I know retaking them would make me more competitive.
  5. Oddly enough, I still have hope. We are having a big blizzard here in PA, so I doubt they are still working. I just find it weird that no GradCafe people have posted anything. Obviously, everyone applying doesn't post here, but not hearing anyone update the forum or results page seems weird.
  6. Nothing yet????
  7. I'm glad to see you're still in the running!!!
  8. I'm definitely holding on to hope until a few Ed Policy people post AND even then, I'm calling to confirm that I wasn't chosen....LOL.
  9. Another person posted and they said it was a generic e-mail from the dean, ugh. That makes me even more scared that I haven't heard. On a positive note, they were also quantitative methods soooooo there's hope???
  10. Ed Policy PhD applicant, and no news for me either!!!
  11. Crazy, isn't it!!! Things have been busy at work, so it's been kind of keeping my mind off things. But every time my phone rings with an unstored number or i get a new e-mail, I get anxious again -__-
  12. Congrats!! and thanks for the insight on the site!
  13. Same here----I'm expecting a response no later than next Friday. I'm only applying to one school, so this is the only board I've been checking, aside from the education interviews board. I was pretty chill up until this week. I know by next week I'll be refreshing this page hourly
  14. I find it funny (not really) that there are only 45 replies on this thread but it has over 2k views. Either there's a ton of lurkers or the few of us commenting have been neurotically checking this page for updates....LOL
  15. Hi all, Mine also said ready for review and hasn't changed. I e-mailed my POI a couple weeks ago about possibly meeting up with his current students and he replied today. He said that things have been very busy (as I suspected) and that they were hoping that the first phase of the PhD admission process would be done by the 2nd week in February. This next part is me drawing conclusions: I'm assuming invites will be out by next Friday, then the Interviews will be the 2 weeks later, that first weekend in February and then they will meet and chat the following week?
  16. Hi all! Just checking in to say I'm waiting with you. I applied to the Ed Policy PhD program. I only applied to one program, so this is it. If I don't get in, I've done enough self-talk to know the program is super competitive and that I should try again next year, and add a few other schools as well. Hopefully we all get some posti e results soon
