As far as studying for the MFT exam goes, I would suggest checking out http://www.therapistdevelopmentcenter.com/exam-prep/mft because they are simply all about test prep, and you can get a coach to help you all the way through passing. They literally stay with you until you pass. Just an idea.

I would take some LCSW exam prep courses so you can pass the test right out of undergrad. This could help you get a good job while attending grad school and furthering your education. That is what I am doing and it is working well.

The LCSW is totally worth it. My sister took it and is now making almost double of what she made before, and I have an offer for more money as soon as I pass the test. I would recommend getting an LCSW to anyone.

I used an exam prep and it has helped me understand what is on the test and be confident enough to pass. My sister used it and passed her first time.
