It's so weird, it happened so quickly.  I got the text and next thing I knew, I was canceling the entire trip.  I don't want to go to Rockefeller and I can tell by how relieved I am that I don't have to go and deal with it and try to seem interested.  They are a great school but I just feel so comfortable about Vanderbilt and Nashville.  AHHHHHHHHHH

Seems like it was meant to be! Congratulations on your decision!!

Hey, thank you! Did they tell you about the international applicants or domestic applicants?

Hey! No I didn't ask for clarification, just in general. But she made it seem like its a long process and that they still have a long way to go in terms of reviewing apps and extending interviews, so don't lose hope yet!! I was confused by the rejection I saw in the results section though.

I'm a international applicant. I have applied 18 programs but I only got a interview invite from UIUC MCB and a skype interview from Rice but they put me on waitinglist.

Checking email hundreds times a day without any news drives me crazy!!

Does anybody know something about UW(biological physics, and design program), Columbia (biological science), Dartmouth (molecular and cellular biology), BU (biology) and Brown (molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry) ? These are my top choices.

I spoke with Dartmouth MCB on Monday and Brown (but MMI, not what your program is), and both said they had extended all invitations to interview.

Just got accepted to U Chicago's Human Genetics program!! :) im so excited, I had so much fun there on my interview.

Posting because I wanted to give hope to others with only 1 interview - it can work out! At the end of the day you can only go to one place.

    Congratulations!!!

Does anyone know if Vanderbilt IGP has sent all the invitations or if they are still reviewing?

Did any international students get invitation from Vanderbilt? I saw one on the survey

I was told on Monday that they are still reviewing and sending out interviews and will be doing so for the next few weeks.

Well hey man, good luck with the rest of your applications and thanks for answering my questions. I only applied to two UW departments and no other schools this year so I hope you're in a better position than me!

Ahh I'm sorry dude :( I applied to 19 (yeah I know lol) schools and have heard literally NOTHING from any of them. It's gotten to the point that I assumed my email was broken or something lol so I was at least happy to see some movement, even if it's a rejection.

Well someone just posted a rejection notification by email...unless they just assumed a rejection because of no other email.

Nah, they sent out rejections this morning! Pretty awful timing haha.

"We appreciate your consideration of the University of Washington (UW) Immunology PhD program for your graduate school education.  The Immunology Admissions Committee met in December to discuss each application in the Immunology applicant pool and decided which 30 applicants to invite for interviews.

I regret to inform you that after careful deliberation your application was not among the few that were selected for admission to this program.  The number and quality of graduate applicants to the University of Washington are extraordinary and these difficult decisions are reached through careful consideration of all applicants to a given program.  In many cases, enrollment restrictions are also a factor, limiting our ability to accept all qualified applicants."

So UNC said people will be hearing till 2-3 rd week of January. Duke said if I don't hear back this week, its probably a rejection.I have not heard back from any other schools, so beginning to lose hope.:(

Looks like you also heard from BCM. I applied there as well, top choice for IMBS and second choice human genetics.Did you get an email or phone call from them?

I just got the rejection from Harvard BBS, not too surprised but at least it is out of the way now. Great start to a Monday I guess..HAHA

Re: Harvard BBS, Did they actually email you a rejection or did you ask? I have received nothing and its driving me insane.

I received my invite last year on 12/19 via e-mail.  I'd hold your horses a few days on calling.  No use in buggering them.

P.S.  I didn't end up going there but I was torn between my current program and UM MiCaB, would highly recommend.

I ended up calling them after posting before. They said all invites were sent out on Wednesday, and rejections are handled by the grad school itself and won't be released until january. That is so scary to me!

  10. Hi guys! Does anyone happen to know when University of Minnesota's MICaB program sends out interviews? There are none from this year yet on the results page, and in previous years it seems to have ranged from 12/15-12/21.

Also if I wanted to call to find out something like this, what would I say? Thank you :)
