  1. Anyone else deciding between Balsillie's MIPP and MAGG program? Would be great to hear your thoughts - I'm so torn.
  2. Yes, I applied and got in. 2nd round offers should be made shortly - I believe we have until the end of this month or so to accept/reject the offer.
  3. Not as a reply. Just received this in my inbox
  4. Just got this email from Tabbatha (NPSIA): Dear Applicant, I am emailing to inform you that we have made first round admission decisions and I will be sending out emails with application status updates beginning on Monday, March 21st. Thank you for your patience during this process.
  5. Also, any MPPPA Concordia applicants - The committee meets Tues afternoon (March 8th). Emails should go out Wednesday or later this week. You can call Julia (Poli Sci Grad officer) on Wednesday to find out the decision as well.
  6. Hey guys, I just spoke to Ena from BSIA for the MAGG program - first round offers have gone out (via phone calls) and any second round offers will go out approx after 2 weeks.
  7. I don't think there's a way to check online, but you should definitely give BSIA a call
  8. cGPA 4.0/4.3, Background: Criminology, Nothing majorly policy related in EC's.
  9. @lew Was it the MIPP or MAGG that you heard back from? And are you sure they didn't mention the CIGI fellowship?
  10. Just got my BSIA acceptance for the MIPP Program!! 15k CIGI Fellowship as well
  11. Congrats! Is this your first choice?
  12. NPSIA could be updating their system alphabetically by last name - something similar was mentioned about that last year.
  13. I totally hear you on that - the anxiety is so overbearing.
  14. ^ I read it today as well, haha. Looks like they're a bit late this year - it should change by next week, hopefully.
  15. My NPSIA says "Review in progress by department"
  16. @blaffy78Nothing yet, and I'm SO anxious. Last year, NPSIA let their applicants know around March 12th/13th. BSIA was late, and informed them around end of March/early April. If the trend holds this year, it's another ~3 weeks of waiting... Concordia's MPPPA told me that offers will go out end of February/early March latest.
  17. Just got an email from BSIA for their open house on March 4th. Anyone planning to go?
  18. @SSGMCB Balsillie is my top choice, applied to NPSIA just for caution. I'm also really surprised not many people choose Balsillie - the Internship with CIGI is amazing, lots of opportunities for scholarships (compared to Munk), Balsillie is located in the CIGI campus ... there are so many pros! I love it's practicality. Only con I've come across is its location (distant from Toronto) and also difficult to get in. I chose not to apply to Munk because of their (IMO) ridiculously high tuition fees.
  19. Same as you on my end ^ Think Tanks would be my first choice, along with Ministry of Public Safety or Global Affairs
  20. I remember reading somewhere that Munk receives approx. 300-350 applications? Maybe more - take this with a grain of salt. Munk accepts around 80 students. Not sure about NPSIA.
  21. References? Or Acceptances? If the latter, then usually around mid March. From what I've heard, the odds of receiving substantial funding at Munk is very limited - students who receive a scholarship do so around $2-7k. NPSIA really depends, I've heard students receiving anywhere from 2k-14k. A wide range there, lol.
  22. I finished an Undergrad in Criminology, cGPA of 4.05/4.3, strong LoR's, Undergrad Thesis + Conference Presentation - however no strong policy volunteer/job experiences, or background in economics. 1) Balsillie (either program) 2) NPSIA 3) Concordia How about you?
  23. So glad this discussion thread was made! I applied to NPSIA, both programs at BSIA, and Concordia's MPPPA program (As a backup). Is anyone comfortable with sharing stats?
