Also, in response to poorstudent I wouldn't say that MFA's are pure money generating machines. If anything it's the undergrad programs which generate the money to pay for the grad programs. We were told at an orientation that each grad student at Yale painting costs over 100,000 dollars per year, (or maybe it was that amount over two years) either way the tuition (which is exorbitant) doesn't even come close to the cost. I agree with what others have said, poorstudent can use the grad program as a residency, but they are very different things, and going into a grad program you should expect and want your work to change, rather then a further refining of what you've already done... Use it anyway that works though, getting paid to work at this is a privilege either way. Anyway, poorstudent, it was a thoughtful post, thanks (you did come off as a bit smug though)

Hey, I had mine for painting yesterday... I didn't feel like mine went terribly well, hope yours was good, Any other Yale interviewees here? how did you find the interview?

I would say that's definitely not true about European schools wanting MFA's that are under 26, where are you getting this information?

Does anyone know if there is a firm deadline on acceptances in Canada? It seems the states has an April 15th standard, but I've been asked to reply for April 1st to Concordia, I'd like to go, but I'm still waiting on interviews from the US...

I just looked at these, the Staedel isn't a masters, and the other asks for German proficiency- just to clarify.... I've always wanted to study in Germany, but my German is pretty poor.. do you know of any other schools?

Hey, I think they just haven't updated the website... I've also heard they don't do interviews, so we should hear back in the next couple of weeks with a yea or nay- good luck,

I think it's 97% your portfolio that will get you in anyway, don't stress about not meeting people beforehand... I'm sure no matter how many times you met them, if they didn't think the work fit with the program, or year, or whatever they think they want, then you wouldnt be getting in.. best luck,

http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/table/2010/jun/04/university-guide-art-and-design Though it doesnt break up the categories of painting or sculpture, and I don't see some of the more famous schools on it (where's Central St. Martins?)... also, why is Oxford second? I've never heard of their program.... maybe the art school is known under a different name from the larger university? anyone have any more information?

I've heard from neither UCLA or Columbia, but just out of curiosity which would you choose between the two? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! -
