  1. I like this idea. Let's make it happen.
  2. Hi folks - I'm another first year PhD after a successful (but wild) application season last year. I'd be happy to answer any possible questions anyone might have about the whole process, so please feel free to PM me!
  3. I never got an outcome from UConn. Is this normal? The application portal still says 'submitted' and everything is there. I solicited and didn't receive a response...
  4. Thanks Justin! Daily Nous fans unite!
  5. This isn't really on topic but has anyone noticed the Philosophical Gourmet website is suddenly non-existent?

What are the alternatives to FB these days?
  9. Thirded (?) - if anyone has any questions about their program feel free to contact me!
  10. Haha yeah! What did they do, throw you guys a boat party or something?! (They probably did, didn't they?)
  11. Haha, I've accepted Cincinnati's offer They're an excellent fit for me as I'm a diehard Gibsonian and everyone there seems to be as well.
  12. I have indeed.
  13. It's all over for me, folks. I've declined offers from Syracuse and Rochester. This is the weirdest mix of emotions I have ever felt.
  14. Number no, but apparently a good chance at getting a funded offer.
  15. Removed myself from the UMass waitlist. /cry
  16. Local food???
  17. Oh boy!
  18. Same. Could be a waitlist-off-the-waitlist type thing, too.
  19. Phil of mind/cog sci.
  20. I took myself off the Missouri waitlist. Hope this helps someone somewhere.
  21. Thank you! Most likely not. I'll update here for sure.
  22. I'm quite surprised to be honest as the initial email had no indication of position/likelihood and there were other posters who were told they were high on the waitlist. But I think "quite surprised" has been my general disposition throughout this entire process!
  23. Yep - that would be me.
  24. Yeah - it's a good idea to take the GRE seriously, study seriously, and do the best you can - but if you don't do as well as you'd hoped, don't let that deter you from applying to higher-ranked schools. (I wish I followed this advice... mostly the taking it seriously bit.)
  25. Admitted to Rochester - I missed a call earlier today and just got an official email confirming all the details.
