  1. Confirmed my PhD position at King's College with a full scholarship and tuition from the ESRC. Also have to do an obligatory study abroad semester at either UNC Chapel Hill or University of Singapore,
  2. Turns out no news is in fact good news. On the wait list for UVA. Full funding offered from LSE this week too.
  3. Not really sure why I've not been successful in the States. I don't think I can put it down to my research interests as I only applied to schools that had good research matches to my own. I have wondered if US schools prefer students from US schools both because they can easily judge the prestige of the schools as well as identify the referees easily. Whilst my referees are pretty well-known here, perhaps they're not so well known in the states. On my own profile, maybe my GRE scores aren't competitive enough. I got summa cum laude for my undergraduate and have 4.0 (so far) for my MA so I doubt that was a negative factor. Again, all just speculating though.
  4. Still holding out for Toronto but no news since Carolyn's email last week. Also heard absolutely nothing from UVA so far. Should I resign myself to the rejection pile or reach out to them? Acceptances went out a good month ago now and I assume they would have contacted me if I was on the waiting list?
  5. Just seen these NYU acceptances. v happy for other but personally disappointed not to have heard anything. It was my number 1 fit!
  6. Got my eyes on NYU today too so good luck! With any luck we might see UCSD come out too but maybe that's too much wishful thinking on my part.
  7. 11pm at my end and feeling the same way too. The wait for my schools to communicate a decision, whatever it is, is getting really painful now.
  8. Ok thanks. Makes me feel that I'm for sure heading to the reject pile then!
  9. Just spotted a UVA wait list in the results. Anyone claiming that? I've got no change in my status but seeing that makes me think all acceptances have been submitted.
  10. Penn State, UCSD, NYU and UVA anytime this week will do. Please and thank you.
  11. Can penn state and Virginia just let me know if I'm a reject already. Rude.
  12. Ok so both communications were via email? Just checked my online status but no change. It seems early for UVA compared to previous years' release dates. Are you the one citing Foreign Affiars interests on the results page?
  13. Omg congrats (again)! Did get decision today (Saturday)?
  14. Do we think it's likely that the 'informal' penn state emails might turn into more formal ones today? If it's a reject I just want to know already.
  15. There are penn state admissions? Congrats again, who sent the email from admissions or a department contact? I see no change on my online account. It it muy be a cliché but damn the struggle IS real. Any idea when official offers would come out? I feel that Penn was one of my strongest applications so pretty gutted if I'm headed to the rejection pile.
  16. NYU seems set to follow standard early February release date. Spoke to my potential supervisor ( not on committee) today who told me the committee was meeting yesterday and on Tuesday.
  17. Congrats again to all the new admits. Yet again another school I didn't apply to and still the wait continues. Even though I have UK options, all are still pending funding decisions which don't come until the 25th of May. Pretty much feels like I have 0 so far. Waiitng out for some answers next week!
  18. Congrats to all the OSU admits so far! Still not heard from any of my US/Canadian options yet but not expecting anything this early (despite checking my email with more than average enthusiasm!)
  19. I saw a guy from another feed got an offer from LSE yesterday for the MA in EU Politics. He'd applied mid Nov with his papers processed at the beginning of Dec. Fingers crossed for offers soon! Good luck all (both with results and the excruciating waiting!)
  20. Ok, it seems that they're pretty true to their 8 week turnaround times then. My proposal is about the Europeanisation of public policy and the affect it has on the emergence of the (debated!) EU identity.
  21. Súper Congrats! When did you submit your app/ have papers processed by the school? Ive applied to EU Politics but PhD as I'm already in an EU politics MA programme. Pretty sure I'll need an interview 1st though. Congrats again mate.
  22. Heard back from Kings College today for PhD. Conditional offer requiring me to complete my current MA with 'Merit'. They cite an 8 week turnaround time for answers and I submitted my application the same week as LSE.
