Hello! This will make most sense for Canadians applying to Canadian medical schools, as processes are different in the USA. I'm stuck in a pickle: I had planned to write the MCAT August 4th. Now less than 2 weeks away from that date, I find myself not feeling confident about the sections other than Verbal. As you may know, Northern Ontario School of Medicine does not require MCAT scores, and McMaster Med only looks at Verbal scores. An important note on top of this: it just so happens that with my background and application, NOSM and Mac are actually where I have the best chances of getting accepted into anyway, regardless of MCAT. WHAT SHOULD I DO? Option 1: write only the Verbal section, and leave all other sections blank, so that if I don't get into Mac/NOSM and choose to re-write properly, schools will see that I initially had not even tried the other sections, rather than getting a low score. Option 2: guess on the whole test except verbal and hope for the best? But perhaps if I end up having to re-write and re-apply next year, other schools will see that I did very poorly on my first attempt (by virtue of guessing), instead of clearly only attempting verbal for Mac which I suppose could make sense in their minds, as I know others have done this before. Let me know! I have decided that I AM writing the MCAT on the 4th, because I want to start applying this year. It's just a matter of how to write it.... Thanks so much!

Hello! So, nowhere on the diploma does it say Teacher's College or TC? I've just been admitted and I'm just wondering what my diploma will look like for my MS degree. Thanks for your input!

LOL - just realized your post is from 2010. Hope all went well for you! Hello! First off, congrats! I've been admitted to the same program as you and think I may accept my offer! If you click into the 'accepted students page' link from your acceptance message, you will see a breakdown of the costs which seems to be around 88,000$/year. Also - I spoke to an admissions liaison prior to applying and she said this program can be completed in a year (12 months) if done full-time with no interruptions, but most students take 1.5-2 years to complete it. Hope this helps!

Hey all - just got in at TC as well. Does anyone know if when we get our diploma, it's a diploma from TC or from Columbia? What does it say on the diploma? I'll try to ask past students in other forums as well. Best of luck to all!

Hi! Which program did you apply to? I heard back on Friday that I've been accepted but no funding - wondering if that comes out later. I got an e-mail saying my decision was made available which then connected me to the portal where I got my acceptance. Nothing in the mail yet. I'll be in touch with them on Monday about funding and housing etc.

Others have been notified past 6PM in the past apparently so let's not give up hope til, let's say, 8PM

Me too! We are about 25 mins away from the time it seemed to have been sent out last year (according to some admitted students on other forums) - 4:20PM. This is turning into a freak out forum. Haha.

You are strong, my friend. I still have my heart set on today - I'm just hoping it's not too late into the evening. My body is already exhausted from the anxiety and it's only 3:30PM.

My understanding is that @elveintiocho is a current HGSE student and has heard some information regarding admissions/the phone-a-thons. I have been lurking a little more, and I think you're right, @graciasadios. 3PM is fair although it seems last year it was around 4:30PM - so the best bet is probably 3PM ONWARDS.

Yes. Up until now we were thinking around 3PM EST.

Goodness. I sure hope not! Lol. It's funny how we are 30 minutes away from the date/time when we were almost certain we'd be hearing and suddenly we are questioning everything we've ever known.

Makes sense - although it seems to have been the first Friday in March consistently for the past couple of years at least. All we can do is hope that they keep this up, lol. Thanks for the info!

Why do you say we wouldn't be hearing today? Based on the past, it has been on the first Friday of every March.

Me too! I feel as though all of us in this thread could become admission reps for the school with all the research we've done. I'm at work right now, eyes glued to this thread. Cheers to low productivity!
