  1. @taeyeon I contacted them and they sent me a mail saying they'll release the decisions in June (which I think will not favor some us who need visas to enter Switzerland).

@Kay_p, With the Cite application, after selecting UniGe, at the faculty section you'll find IHEID there. I think your admission attestation should suffice as that's what I used. With the proof of help from parents I have no idea about it. I uploaded my scholarship letter. I hope I've been of a lil help though.

    Safe.

  2. So soon 15 March is about due. Honestly, I don't think I would have been able to wait this long like some of you guys. I know its the wait that actually "kills" but not the results.

I wish you all the best, I'm praying and hoping you all get the best and positive results you are expecting so we all meet in Geneva this fall. :)

    Safe.

  3. @Magaaa much thanx n congratulations to u as well. U also welcome to this thread.

@Grad888 my first concern is will the rooms be available by the time we ( those of us supposed to enroll in the 3 week French and Maths course) arrive in Geneva? Cos from the websites of the various housing options, the rent contract begins in September and since we have to be Geneva roughly by the second or third week in August, I was just wondering.

    Much thanx n safe.

  4. Welcome @moni I think you should also apply to other availabile rooms and not pin all your hopes on Piccioto. And you should do it now cos "the early bird always gets the worm" and I think an ample time will be given to accept and confirm the room offer.

Whatever happens I think it'll be the best to have more offers and choose one than to have nothing. We excited to meet you too.

    Safe.

  5. Was there even any room allocation process at all, cos if not even one person on this thread was made an offer then which people got the rooms? I'm so confused now cos I need a room offer for my visa application process and I'm just wondering if the other accomodation options can make us an offer in time for it.

I'm so upset and disappointed cos looking at their bases for selection it looked and sounded like a sure deal for most of us here.

I guess I'm also going to have to search for other options. :(

  6. Hi guys,

Thank you for assistance on Thursday, I really appreciate it.

@Chaska I sent them another follow up mail just like u advised and @Mangrovia just when I was about to call them, my invoice status changed from issued to paid. I wish u guys knew I relieved I was.

Welcome and congrats Kate_rina. I also learnt they are very busy with the late admission process as it took  4 days with follow up mails before my invoice status changed. Since you have a receipt that states that you paid before the deadline, i think you should not worry. As @mangrovia said the other time  they want you that's why they admitted you and they are not going to cut you out due to some situation beyond your control. So just relax and cheer up, you will be attend to.:)

I got the financial aid email at the same time as my admission notification, so I guess it's not a completely uniform system...

Though the GISA site isn't updated that often, I feel like the student housing websites themselves shouldn't be too out of date. For instance, Cite-Uni's website says you can rent a room starting from CHF 480. Personally I cook a lot, so wherever I end up residing, I need my own kitchen and not a shared one :P Really liking the look of the Rothschild rooms, but past experience tells me to go with the uni's own housing if possible.

April 5 seems so far away and yet I bet it'll already be that date on the calendar soon. We'll have a lot of questions for you both before and after you go attend, @Mangrovia! This is so exciting.

By the way, anyone here need a visa to go to Switzerland? I wanted to start getting my application ready, but I've seen somewhere that we can't apply until 90 days before our intended date of arrival. And considering the process is supposed to take 3 months, that's really cutting it close.

     Heya,

Just received a mail from the student house asking me to apply for a room latest by 30th January and want to know if anyone else has.

@taeyeonIn my country it takes 3 to 4 months to get a swiss student visa and I think that's the case in most countries too. Waiting for 90 days before applying might delay your arrival (including the 3 weeks French course) so I think you should visit the swiss embassy in your country and inquire.

    Best.

Oh my goodness, you guys! I so was not expecting IHEID to drop notifications on us like this when we'd been told it's for next week. I've been traveling to places without internet this week, so I didn't even think to check my e-mail until an hour ago. I've basically been curled up in my motel bed crying tears of happiness (not an exaggeration, I assure you) because I was admitted with a full scholarship! I still need to pay a small portion of the tuition fees, but it's affordable and I'm just... speechless. Here's a virtual high-five to all others who received their admissions!

I'm sorry for those who were refused, but I'm glad we were able to be here for each other for the suspenseful wait up until now. And the best of luck to those still under consideration, I'm sure you guys will receive the answers you want in March ^_^

Congrats and which course were you accepted to?

  9. Hi Guys,

I applied to the early phase of international economics and I have just received my acceptance and a full scholarship too. Please I want to know if anybody has also been accepted to the same programme.

Congratulations to all who got accepted and hope to meet you this fall.
