  1. Hey, Congratulations! I did receive the housing application email a few days back, what about you? The Institute's student house does have a gym (according to the website), but I am not sure how expensive it will be. Looking at the general gym prices across the city I am worried I will have to say goodbye to conventional strength training.
  2. Hey guys! Looks like the facebook group for IHEID 2016 is getting a little more active. They have started creating subgroups for each programme. Everyone admitted to the International Relations/Political Science programme here is ours - https://www.facebook.com/groups/238964303121073/ See you all there!
  3. Sorry @Independence, I know of only the Swiss Excellence Scholarship and the deadline for that was in November 2015. I think the best thing you can do right now is write to the Swiss Embassy in New Delhi, or take an appointment there. They should be able to provide you with an exhaustive list. It will be much better than just googling randomly because you might miss out on some great opportunities if you don't know the exact name of the scholarship. You can get in touch with Indraneel Ghose, Senior Advisor, Education, Research and Innovation, Embassy of Switzerland, New Delhi at ndh.scholarship at eda.admin.ch, He was the point person when I contacted them regarding the Swiss Excellence Scholarship. Best of luck!
  4. I have heard back from a few. All of them have asked me to wait till June/July to apply. As that is when they will know if they have any space available. One of them even requires an in-person interview to be considered for residence. But thanks for this. I just wrote to RUI. Did you get in touch with them through their online contact form? Yes. The rules on timings makes me feel like I am going back to boarding school. But frankly, I'll be happy to get a decent bed anywhere at this moment.
  5. Yes, me too! Great to meet someone from the same city.
  6. I did check out a few of the 'female-only' residences but the religious bend of some of these places and the regulations are a little off-putting. But considering that we don't have many options I will apply to them nevertheless.
  7. @taeyeon Yes I was thinking the same, that I should have applied to these places earlier. Somehow I am not too optimistic about these places. We might just have to rent flats or rooms in the city. @Mangrovia Hope you will be able to get more information on this and fill us in as and when you visit IHEID.
  8. @RoyaleGVa, here you go: http://cite-uni.unige.ch/en/nos-hebergements/resident/
  9. Thanks @RoyaleGVa and @Mangrovia. ? The Geneva forums weren't kidding when they discussed the shortage of accommodation in the city. I doubt the institute has any free rooms at all, especially seeing not one of us got in. @Mangrovia I have applied to the accommodations offered by University of Geneva so far. Will apply to the rest in the next few days.
  10. Congratulations @RoyaleGVa! I have a question about the application to the other accommodations available. Most of these places are asking for an 'immatriculation request' date or certificate of registration, by this do they mean our 'Admission Attestation' letter that we have received? Just wanted to confirm. The terminology used is a little confusing. Thanks guys!
  11. Yeh. Didn't get housing either. Will have to look at other options. Hopefully something close to the institution.
  12. Hey @Kate_rina, Congratulations! And I am so glad to meet another person from the MIRPS programme. With regards to making a decision between Sciences Po and IHEID. I would personally go with a university/institution that offers me a full scholarship, and would only consider a partial scholarship offer if I was sure that I would be able to manage the rest of the expenses with ease. Most importantly, I would see which faculty my research interests align with as I plan on applying for a PhD. The fact that the institute is small could work in our advantage - more opportunities, closer relationships with the faculty and therefore, more chances of being picked to work in their research projects. Anyway, I know decisions like these are not easy but this is the way I would go about it. I hope it helps. Good luck!
  13. @taeyeon its theoretical bend is one of the reasons why I am interested in the MIRPS programme. My other options are LSE and Oxford. So let's see, let's see. You're right, better to accept their offer and figure out as and when things happens later.
  14. Hello everyone! I am so glad to have found this topic. Congratulations to all of you. I have been admitted to the MA International Relations/Political Science programme with a full scholarship. The institute is one of my top choices but I was hoping we were given the option to make a decision by April rather than by the end of this month. :/ Anyway, I was wondering if any of you have received communication from the Institute regarding accommodation at their Student House? I checked the forums and people from last year had received information about it around this time...so just want to check on that. I feel like I am missing out on emails as I found out about the scholarship by randomly checking the follow-up section. Usually, they send emails about these things. Thank you!
