Did you submit your FAFSA and everything on time?

I guess it might not all go out in one day like with admissions.

I'm comforted a little to know that I'm not the only one with just loans.  It seemed like from last year's thread that international students are given more grants because they are ineligible for US federal loan packages... I'm trying not to take this personally.  I don't have any existing undergrad debt (anymore) and apparently that is a big factor in their decision to burden you with loans or not.

I did! I didn't have to submit FAFSA as I'm international but I filled the other form in on time. I definitely had a moment of logging back into the application site and being like, wait, is my acceptance letter still up? (I thought the anxiety was supposed to end after we got in! :P)

Oh well, I guess I'll panic if I haven't heard before March 30th. If it means no aid, though, that means it'll come to the same cost as Penn with aid -- Penn might even wind up costing a little less if by some miracle that extra 10k scholarship application works out!! (Time to frantically polish that scholarship application essay!!)

  2. Has anyone who was admitted also not gotten their aid packages yet? Mine's not yet up, all it says is that all documents were received... even if that meant no aid it should say so right?

Yes my mum sent me a msg yesterday to tell me something came by postal mail! No fin aid news. I was hoping for the end of the week, since they estimate it comes out about 2 weeks after notifications, but I have no definite info... would love to know soon tho'! Also about the other awards (not sure if they come together or if it's a separate notification?). If any gets news about those, please let us know! :)

Just got mine in the mail! I'm international so it was FedEx'ed over. I was running late so rifled through it at school while waiting for students to arrive and they saw the folder and freaked out...

Although I did not apply for an IEP Master's program this year, I am considering it for the next application season. Did most of you take time between undergrad and applying for these programs to gain related experience, or will you be going straight from undergrad to your program? I tried to get an idea from your posts, but it was difficult to determine.

I took two years to work in education back home in Southeast Asia!

I haven't heard back yet :( I hope that doesn't mean I'm rejected! (Although at this point I don't care, because I prefer Penn, but still... I met with a professor there, everyone I know has been accepted to TC, so I'd just be very surprised!)

I applied for the MA, not MEd, because I don't have a Masters yet, so maybe they're moving through those pools separately? I hope you'll hear soon!

Did you hear back from TC yet?  I only have half of my decisions in, and even then, we won't have all the financial info for a few weeks, so I feel like I'm still miles away from being able to decide! (Even though I've completely eliminated NYU, it's a dead heat between Penn and HGSE right now, and TC in third as long as they don't offer me some scholarship).

Do you guys think the difference between development and policy should be a major deciding factor?  I'm new to the field in general, but know I have a stronger interest in development, but am open to everything.  Should I be concerned about the differences between Penn/TC vs. HGSE with the policy focus?  How will this change the nature of my education and the skills I will acquire?

I heard back from TC yesterday with an acceptance! No aid info yet though...

Hi All, I've been lurking here for ever. My curiosity eventually got the better of me. Has anyone from the IEDP program heard back yet? I submitted early in February and my application is still not reading "Ready to review" because the English Requirement reads "needed" and I emailed to correct it. but still nothing. I already have one rejection and i am waiting to hear back from UPenn and the Uof T. I am an international applicant and I need to know before my F1 status runs out as I finish my degree. Please put me out of my misery.

Hi! When I submitted early Jan, I had the same thing -- I emailed and they manually waived the English requirement, and it was ready for review mid Jan, I think! And I heard back mid Feb, thankfully with good news! Perhaps you could try calling or emailing again? Though I think they were also super busy in Feb as well, so it might take longer.... All the best of luck!

I submitted my application for IEDP on Jan 23, and it's not even ready for review yet... Still "materials needed", but I already sent my GRE results to GSE in October. I guess many people submitted their applications in January - the deadline peak for all other international education programs! (at least for those I've applied to)

Are you an international student? I had the same thing because the app didn't automatically waive my English proficiency status even though I completed my undergrad in English, so I emailed them and they had to manually waive it for me before the app became ready for review...

Glad to see fellow Vandy admits! What's your thinking in terms of decisions - I know we all still have to wait for HGSE and TC in March, but right now what do you think of Vandy's IEPM? I'm a bit concerned that it isn't as "international" as the other programs, and there were some slightly negative comments in last year's thread about diversity of the student body. Also it seems more research-oriented/theoretical than Penn or HGSE, or TC for that matter, less practitioner-oriented. Any comments? Anyone know the school/program a bit better?

I'm really seriously considering it -- all my internship experience has been in public health but my employment in education, so I was torn between applying for an MPH and a M.Ed. -- the breadth of global health courses I could take in the program is super appealing to me! I also like that it seems to be a smaller class than Harvard IEP or Columbia IED, and I've heard past students talk positively about the relationships they built with their professors. I went to a small liberal arts college and had super positive relationships with my professors, so I'm hoping for that in grad school too... which isn't to say that it won't happen at the other two, just that it might not come as easily, if that makes sense?

I've got to admit my heart's still kind of set on Penn, but this is a very, very close second. I hadn't read the thing about the diversity of the student body, will have to go look that up and have a read...
