Thank you @litany239 ! I appreciate it! Still waiting on my official notice. Also, forgot to note that the program I got into was a joint Ph.D. in Sociology and African-American Studies. Therefore, that may have played a role in getting accepted later then most Sociology applicants. Wishing you the best!

I received notice from Yale last night inviting me to recruitment day in April. Had not even heard that I had been accepted yet. Emailed DGS this morning, confirmed that I have been admitted and that I should receive an official acceptance either today or tomorrow. I will post on the board once it is actually OFFICIAL. So they could be sending notices out to their "second wave" of students. Hope this helps!

@HopefulFutureSoc Congrats! Looks like you'll have some tough decisions, or maybe its an easy one for you. Any idea on which school might be the best fit for you so far? PM me if you'd like.

I completely get it @gingin6789. It is nice to have closure though isn't it? The things you pointed out could have made a difference, nonetheless you got into some great programs and you will have some tough decisions to make. Also, have my fingers crossed for you and Vandy

@gingin6789 Keep your head up! You got into some amazing schools. I also got rejected from Brandeis, but I knew I was a bad fit. I applied because it was close to home and I had a fee wavier. Brandeis has a great program, but my research interests just didn't fit. Congrats to all those accepted!

I haven't received my rejection from Harvard yet. I know its coming just wondering why I haven't received it yet since 20 people received theirs today. Do you think because I applied to a joint Ph.D. program (Sociology & Social Policy) it takes longer?

I applied to the joint Sociology & Social Policy Ph.D. program. Have not heard anything at all. Assuming that isn't a good sign. :/

@ts1493 I would say that the fact you had already spoke with a professor may have passed you through the phone interview part. From what I understood it was just a phone call to get more information about us. Northeastern was one of the only schools where I wasn't able to speak to anyone before hand. I did have a brief email exchange with the chair, but a phone call allowed them to get a better sense of my background and experience. I am transferring from a PhD program into another, so that was another reason they wanted to talk briefly. Given your stats and the fact you were already admitted into BC – I would say you will most likely hear good news. Best of Luck!

Hi Alice, I also had an interview last week on Tuesday. I was told the same as you. I have also not heard anything. To be honest I think we should hear back anytime between now and Friday. So hang in there!

Claiming the UGA interview on the results page. Received E-mail from Graduate Coordinator. Invited to recruitment weekend March 20-22. Seems like it is a recruitment/interview process. Offers for admission will be made after recruitment weekend. ***The trip is paid for though, which is nice.

@krispykreme yes it is. My page still says "submitted" but now above the "view checklist" box there is a box that says "view your decision letter".

Am I going crazy or wasn't there more than 3 Brown admits posted on the results page? Thought there were 4 yesterday no looks like only 3.

@KLPLANTER I appreciate your comment. I agree – I know what works best for me. I have had my mind made up a while ago. I was just curious to know what perception was among others interested in sociology. Wasn't actually something I was grappling with. Simply bored and curious is all. Appreciate everyone's input though!
