  1. Got word from Cornell that there are two people who haven't accepted their offer yet. Makes it hard to make decisions when others aren't making decisions, and vice versa. Got accepted to Goldsmiths, CGU, and SAIC. Hopefully this will be settled by the end of the week! Would love to share good news like so many of you have! Congrats on everyone who has made their decision and good luck to everyone still deciding.

  2. Have a friend at Columbia, can confirm this. Columbia is also rumored to be looking for a specific demographic racially too.

    regarding columbia painting,
i found out last night that two previous mfa painters who had to take breaks for medical reasons (one had a baby, one had a brain thing) are restarting in the fall, which means they're taking two less than usual. : /
    it's a small number.

  3. Yup Formally rejected. Congrats to everyone who got an interview and good luck on the trip. I knew Yale was a quarter in the slot machine for me, so this doesn't come as a huge let down. Hope everyone gets in somewhere they wanted!

  4. I applied for painting/printmaking and i don't have the changed status. It could mean a potential acceptance or it could just be a glitch. Either way nothing negative about it! Congrats to all who got it.  We'll probably get official news 2 am tomorrow morning

    Hi Everyone,

my name is Kevin, long time looker/first commenter. I went to the open house this year in New Haven and the director of graduate studies gave us a time line as to when to expect to hear from them. February 5th is the day she said we would hear back about preliminary decisions this year, our interviews will be scheduled for the week of February 29th, and the final decisions will be emailed by March 11th. I saw what looked like the individual that recevied an interview on here as well and throughly freaked out with all of you but I'm sure the 5th is when we will know. Best of luck to you all, even though Yale would be a dream come true for many of us, I know for myself that being a great artist is the first goal and a rejection or acceptance from them will not define that about my practice. That being said fingers crossed for everyone here as only 70 folks get selected for the interviews and if anyone gets an interview please share!

P.s.- if ya'll want anymore feedback from my time up in new haven just say the word. I'd love to chat more about that trip, as I am a west coaster that made the pilgrimage.

    take care!

hell, if I make it to the next round, I'll probably need to. I work on large 7'x 4' wood panels. I can't afford to ship my work unless i'm physically shipping it

I'm actually a west coaster myself and would love to hear how you made the journey. My work is big and some is fragile (glass), right now i'm chuckling of the image of me driving my fathers Ford E350 work van across the country, while sleeping in the back, from Los Angeles to New Haven
