Hey guys, I got admitted to MIT a few weeks ago. A question about grad housing on campus: is it on a first come first serve basis? Or does it not matter when you apply as long as you apply before the deadline? MIT hasn't sent me anything except an admission letter yet and I'm a little worried that I won't have any registration info to apply for grad housing with when graduate allocation opens for fall 2016.

Sorry to hear that. I would say keep trying. I would also ask them if they can provide reasons for why they rejected you. This would help you to work on these areas in particular to have a better chance of getting in next time. I know that SDM stresses a lot on work experience, so perhaps it's a matter of waiting until you get the amount of experience they are looking for (on average 10+ years of experience). Either way, keep trying! I hope you do get into what you want sooner or later!

Hey, which program did you apply to?

Did your application website change? Mine was just updated with two new tabs: "Invitations" and "Scheduled Interviews". No invites yet though Wonder if it's updated for both SDM and IDM applicants or just IDM.

Is anyone applying to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Integrated Design and Management (IDM) program? It is a relatively new program under SDM and there hasn't been a lot of info on it. I'm just wondering when the Jan 15 applicants should expect to hear back by for interviews. It's been 3 weeks and they have yet to view my portfolio (I checked the traffic on my website) or give me any info other than an email confirmation on Jan 22 that my application is complete. Wonder if that's a bad sign or am I just being impatient?
