  1. It depends on the program honestly and how your funding works. I'm in the same boat, lost focus a little bit and am teetering on the bring of possibly getting a C+. However my funding for the fall is locked in as long as I maintain abovd a 3.0 (which a C here would still leave me well above) and actually graduate. My funding is a semester by semester renewal though, so that possible C+ could come up in discussion when its time for contract renewals for spring, but shouldnt really be a huge deal unless you dont do well your first semester in the program. Keep in mind again this differs from program to program, check out your contract and see if it says anything about it.
  2. I applied to Penn State along with a friend. My friend got an invite to an official visit just last week, but I didn't hear anything back myself. Personally didn't apply to the the other two you have listed.
  3. Awesome, thank you! Yeah the part where I'm actually with the professors and touring the facilities I know I'm doing alone. The school is aware she is coming because they are paying for the hotel for the both of us. This was just in regards to the optional social go out on the town with current grad students that is unofficially happening after the main part of the day!
  4. So, my girlfriend is coming with me on a paid official visit to a graduate school next weekend and they just sent me the itinerary. For the first part of the day when I'm meeting with faculty and touring the facilities I'm obviously doing that alone while she explores the town/shops/sleeps herself. Now, it says after the planned events the graduate students will be taking us out around town in the evening, is that something that is appropriate to bring my girlfriend with me or is that something that should be done alone as well?
  5. Hey, I haven't heard anything yet either. Since their application deadline was later than most I probably wouldn't expect to hear anything yet for the next couple weeks. Another school I applied too (University of Alabama Huntsville) had a similar application deadline and have gotten word from them that they will not be making a majority of their decisions for another 2.5 to 3 weeks.
  6. Out of curiously, when should I start getting nervous that I haven't heard a single thing from any school? 4 of my applications were due on Jan 15th, the other 2 were on Feb.1 so I'm not worried about the latter yet obviously, but what about the other 4? I know it is still considered early for actual decisions, but to have heard absolutely nothing has me pretty concerned. Already refreshing the e-mail 95 times a day.
