  1. Congrats on the admit! Hopefully it comes with funding! They do say they have some fellowships, but they seem to give out just as many "half tuition scholarships."
  2. Maybe not. Not sure how many they accept either.
  3. There goes the NYU acceptances as well. I wasn't banking too much on NYU, given that it isn't fully funded. But I also like the program so much that if I did somehow manage to get a funded admit there it would have been my top choice. Sigh. Shrug.
  4. I don't feel down about it. I had already crossed them off the list given that acceptances and waitlists have already gone out. Very much hoping for some good news this week.
  5. Well, I just got my Michigan rejection.
  6. LSU: One acceptance in Fiction on the 15th of Feb. New Writers Project: One acceptance in Fiction on the 23rd of Feb. U of Florida: One waitlist on 16th of Feb. in Fiction (there is a chance this is actually South Florida even though it says U of Florida... given that it was posted when all of the South Florida waitlists went out...) I wouldn't mark any of these programs as "done," especially if you're applying in poetry.
  7. I think most of them are mailed out in early March--maybe the early April thing is re: waitlist positions? Although it does seem that waitlists go out along with acceptances. So who knows. I suspect they just don't want a bunch of emails/calls from applicants asking their status.
  8. Yeah, I'm trying not to be like AHHH NEXT WEEK IS BASICALLY IT. At moments I feel that way though.
  9. Also, this is officially my favorite results posting so far:
  10. I keep needing to remind myself this. I so wish I already had a funded acceptance of some kind. I keep needing to remind myself that less than 50% of my schools have contacted people.
  11. Heh. I felt kind of the same.
  12. NYU acceptance. In poetry. It seems fiction acceptances usually come at least a few days later. I think the I can always apply next cycle attitude is the best one to take. I'm still hoping to get in though =) But yeah, if I don't, not the hugest loss.
  13. Ah, yeah, they do seem to all be poetry. Maybe they haven't gone out for fiction yet? Seems very possible.
  14. Great way to turn your anger about being rejected into racism. - _ -;; Nope. These usually go out in the first week of March... so you likely have another week or so to wait. It makes sense they'd be a bit slower since the deadline for secondary materials wasn't that long ago.
  15. Sigh. This must be all around fake too, no? Given that there aren't any other Iowa rejections. I just checked my status and it's the same -- "in progress." Anyway, I'm assuming this is a joke, albeit not a very good one.
  16. Thanks! =) Sorry you didn't hear any news--but at least you didn't hear any bad news. Hope is alive. Yeah, what the heck. Lol. I kind of assume emotions are just running a bit high--but yeah, really not the best way to deal with those emotions.
  17. Apply in both? I know at places like University of Minnesota people are able to take classes across genres. If that's the case, why not apply in CNF to a handful of programs that allow that / are funded. Your chances of getting admitted as a CNF applicant are much higher.
  18. Well, if you get waitlisted for a PhD/MA program (with potentially better funding) I think it is unfair that they'd require you to respond before other programs. You might just email them and see what they say if that occurs. I do think it is problematic that they are on a different schedule than the vast majority of other schools
  19. I'm still less than half way through hearing from the programs I applied to. So, there's still plenty of hope. It does hurt to see some of these awesome opportunities slip by though.
  20. Well, there's my Cornell rejection. Sigh.
  21. Yeah, that's odd. It might be fake, or they might have read things earlier. Seems weird that someone would do that with such a small program and only post a waitlist--but, you know, people are weird on the internet. I do lean toward thinking it is probably legit though.
  22. Yeah, it's weird that the Michigan rejections don't go out right away. That said, many schools don't send out rejections until a bit later. Eh, just seems to be part of the process. I'd suspect Boise sent out acceptances/waitlists? They're a super small program, no? It's possible the acceptances didn't make the board / draft. But you never know.
  23. =) Nope! This week or next week likely.
  24. I was under the assumption that this could be done post hearing about funding. But yeah, if not, don't give them the money. @ThePandaBard You shouldn't have to pay $500 to hear if you're getting a fellowship. That's unethical. It's not worth it. In fact, if you are required to make a payment before April 15th (or before funding is announced) you should send them an email about the CGS that @Kiri-same mentioned above.
  25. Whatever works! I made a TO DO list and worked through the whole thing. I got caught up on a bunch of emails, tasks, etc. etc. etc. I would often go back and check the boards between things, but it weirdly ended up making me MORE productive. I'm kind of into it. =) They have a couple of 18k a year fellowships. I'd definitely go if you get one of those, otherwise maybe just reapply next year to substantially more schools. You might consider sending an updated CV and noting that you won the award? I does feel like it is getting a bit late at this point, but if it is a functional/generous email it couldn't hurt. I WONDER WHAT TODAY WILL BRING!? More Cornell rejections? Bleh.
