Do you in if it would be possible to switch to on campus after a year?

Yes that option is available I just went to admitted students day this past Saturday for LA admitted students. Switching to campus after one year is def. an option, as is after on year in campus you can switch to online. I am considering doing my second yr online if I chose to attend Columbia.

@RCtheSS: They offered a $10,000 scholarship pro-rated over two years for the MSW and no funding at all for the MPH, so my cash price would be $99K tuition before living expenses. I have not attempted to negotiate for more because I do not have excellent numbers or research to cite. They would have to give me at least $30K more in order for me to feel comfortable with the cost and that's extremely unlikely.

Congrats to all of you on your hard-earned successes!

Hey its amazing itself that you were accepted for a dual master. Do not be afraid to ask for more money, you never know till you try. Be honest with the school. I hope they can work something out for you.

For whatever reason, I did not think about that. haha! I emailed them asking. Will update when I get a response.

Haha please do :). In that case so I can bring someone too. Thank You! Look forward to seeing you!

  4. I have been accepted to both UCLA and Columbia. I need to make a decision by next month and am having a hard time choosing. Both schools are amazing!  Can any current students or Alumns from UCLA or Columbia give me any pros and cons about your experience? Thank You !

Your 2016 MSW Application has been received by the School of Social Work.

You should have already applied online to the University (CSULB) via CSU Mentor. Here are some important steps to ensure you have successfully completed the CSULB application:
    ·       You must submit official transcripts—from every college or university you attended—to UES as soon as possible (but no later than January 15, 2016).
    ·       If you are an international applicant, you must contact the Center for International Education (CIE) for admissions criteria and deadlines.  You may call or e-mail CIE at (562) 985-4106 or cie-admission@csulb.edu.
    ·       You can check the status of your CSULB application through the following link:http://www.csulb.edu/depts/enrollment/admissions/applicant.html.  The School of Social Work will not track the status of your CSULB application for you.

IMPORTANT: Once UES has received all of the required documentation and fee payment for your CSULB application, your application will be placed in Department Review.  The School of Social Work faculty will then evaluate your MSW application. The timeline for evaluation varies based on the time required for UES to process your documents, the date you submitted your application, and faculty workload.  Once a decision has been made, you will receive notification via e-mail.  Please keep us up-to-date with email address changes.

The School of Social Work cannot provide status updates during the assessment process.

Please remember, acceptance to the MSW Program is contingent upon acceptance to CSULB.

    Thank you,

I've lived in apartment housing for 2 years, actually my apartment will have two open spots in it next semester :( It's been a wonderful place to live and much cheaper than typical apartments in the area, landlord is wonderful, and I'm literally a 4 minute walk to school.

Thank you for this information, I was wondering if I could email you?

Same thing happened to me @MSWinmyfuture, I have called several times and they say that I will be waiting until the March deadline to have my application reviewed.... My transcripts surfaced  Jan 28th even though they all ready had them before then. I asked to speak to a supervisor since it's not fair, but they said March...

Hey MrsKozee I summbited my application on Dec. 7 and received my conformation on  1/19/16. I heard back on 2/25/16. Check your spam/junk/clutter mail as for mine was in my clutter mail and did not notice. The time you hear back can vary, but I am sure you'll hear back really soon :).

Good Luck, I also saw you got into UCLA CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im still waiting to hear back from UCLA. I got accepted to Columbia also and now do not know what to do.

  11. Hello everyone. I received my acceptance letter on Monday and I am trying to prepare as much as possible in case I do decide to attend Columbia. I live in Los Angeles, and never have been on a plane. I am kind of nervous.

For those who have been admitted has anyone started to fill out the Housing Application Form? Or for anyone who did attend or is attending  Columbia, what do you recommend in terms of housing. Thank You!

I received an email upon application submission. You can log into the application portal to see whether your app is completed.

Still no news on my end, either. I had a nice streak of admissions news, and now it's been very quiet in my inbox for the past week!

Thank You! Have you tried calling? No one picks up. My friend whom I attend the same school with got admitted on Friday, and I am overwhelmed at this point.

I called them and they said that too!

but I digged deeper and contacted the admission dean and he said that that's what they usually say becaus they get so many callers but he said that once everything is in (transcripts etc) they begin right away and let you know

What number did you call? I submitted my application in Dec. and just want to make sure all my stuff is complete. Did Lance Fooks change his number by the way>
