Hi!
Will a master's degree from FSU's stats department put me on my way to getting a PhD in complex systems or neuroscience imaging?
They've accepted me and offered a practically 100% tuition waiver. However, when I applied for the program what I thought I wanted was a "data science" degree. I realize now that my interests are actually in research, namely, complex systems or neuroscience imaging (probably complex systems), which I understand have similar computer science and mathematical foundations. So instead of accepting the offer, I could take some more undergrad courses in comp sci/math and then apply to a MS or PhD in a field more similar to my interests.
Am I wrong to discount the value of this opportunity in furthering my goals?
Thanks!
Mr. T.

Hi!
I've been accepted into FSU's stat's grad program and would like your opinion. What do you think about your time there so far? Where have you seen other students go? Are there good research opportunities for master's students that want to move on to a PhD in neuroscience (particularly, imaging) or complex systems?
Thanks!

@Robert R Very interesting post. I appreciate it. Do you think an MS in stats could be a stepping stone to complex systems?
