Congrats!! I've heard great things about their program!

I got my Penn rejection yesterday, too. I was really hoping for an Ivy League acceptance, but none worked out. I got into two ethno programs and an anthro program, and I'm leaning more toward the anthro degree because it seems like it could be better for job prospects in the long run. Still not Ivy League, but the program seems like a good fit, and one prof in particular that I am really excited about working with.
@NightGallery, I'm in much the same boat as you are. Mid-30s, family to support, and an MA that I could probably leverage for a decent non-academic job (not Ivy League, but still). Nevertheless, I'm going for it. I know I won't be guaranteed a university position when it's all said and done (and that's part of the reason why I'm most likely going with anthro over ethno), but I have to go for this one last big attempt. I'm not saying you should give it another go, just trying to say I know it's a tough spot to be in.

I just officially accepted my offer from the sociocultural wing of the anthropology department at UC Davis. I received the offer in January, but I had to wait for and weigh some other offers. To the member who was waitlisted and hoping for one of us to turn down the offer: sorry. Hopefully someone else makes room for you. If not, I'm sure you'll be in a great program somewhere. Good luck to everyone!

Still nothing from Brown or Penn? I'm considering writing to writing to my POI at each of these programs. I don't want to come across as that annoying, pushy applicant, but the clock is ticking. I've been accepted at UC Riverside, and if I'm going to spend a lot of money to fly across the country to visit UCR, it has to be next week (for several reasons). Is there a tactful way to ask, "What the E sharp is taking you so long?"

Also waiting on Harvard's CSR PhD (not ThD) program. I've heard back from everywhere else I applied to.
Re. Harvard, I applied to the Buddhist Studies, South Asian Religions, and Religion, Gender, and Culture subfields. I didn't receive a request to interview, though I met with several of the faculty members I'm interested in working with last November at the Atlanta AAR. Fingers crossed!

Ah, somebody said "last week" last week! This wait is excruciating. Anyway, I didn't get an interview, so I'm not optimistic. Then again, I may have read a post in this forum about Harvard not doing interviews. Any idea? You seem to have some inside info, theophany.
