  1. I am right there with you. I just heard back that I would be fully funded at OU so the decision has definitely become a little bit more difficult.
  2. Very frustrating. The delay between acceptances and rejections needs to be fixed.
  3. I would contact her. I am visiting Rutgers next week and plan to meet with several faculty members. Note, I have not accepted their offer either. I have had nothing but incredibly positive feedback when reaching out, especially after being accepted.
  4. I believe so, but I've been wrong before...
  5. Here's hoping you get that acceptance soon!
  6. Good idea. I will do the same but only after I have notified the respective universities - which I will be doing in the next week.
  7. That is amazing!! Congrats to you!
  8. It depends on whether or not you feel at home at the school and if you believe you will be given funding the following year. Have you asked the department about that possibility?
  9. Yes I believe you are correct in your understanding. At the moment the department cannot offer you any funding. That being said I believe opportunities for finding open up after your first year. Congrats though! What school was it?
  10. That is amazing news!!! Congrats to you! Purdue is an amazing university!
  11. I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you on this board. I was hesitant to join at the beginning of this process but have found much solace, camaraderie, and humor during these past few months. Thank you all for being such wonderful resources throughout what has been a stressful and enlightening process. Good luck to everyone over the next few months!
  12. Were you invited to the visit weekend? If so, expect an acceptance.
  13. No kidding. The decisions were made a month ago (to make matters worse). Cannot believe they couldn't even be bothered to send out an e-mail.
  14. Looks like the UT-Austin decisions are going out today. Congrats to those who are accepted!
  15. If you don't mind me asking, where are you waiting to hear back from?
  16. Heck yeah! I will send positive vibes your way!
  17. I don't think you would be normal if you weren't
  18. If you aren't in the U.S. then I would say even more so it is a good idea to give them a call/send them an e-mail. With that in mind, I cannot imagine that it would be seen as a detriment to your cause. If others have received acceptances from a given school, I would tend to think that is likely a rejection. Stay positive though!
  19. You do realize that the scenario you just described actually does happen right? I have heard countless times about lost rejections, etc. So long as you handle it professionally it isn't an issue.
  20. That being said, I know several programs that people have yet to hear back from so I'm less inclined to think it's doom and gloom just yet. I do recommend emailing though, I found out I was rejected from William and Mary from my POI and I haven't even heard official from the college.
  21. I would assume rejection but hope for the best. Most often departments contact you themselves and allow the grad college to handle rejections which often slows that process down. That being said it is perfectly acceptable to email the departments to ask.
