  1. I just reached out to my FPA -- hoping she responds.
  2. Can you please share the reddit thread?
  3. In a moment of serenity in what is to be a ~completely anxious~ afternoon, I realized that our love for research and the disciplines we're apart of will carry us far beyond today's outcome. The work we all want to do, regardless of whether or not we can through Fulbright, is necessary and important. Especially now! Best of luck y'all, I'm sending positivity!
  4. Mine said "mid- anuary" ? maybe I'll never find out!
  5. I definitely agree. I also think that the office was probably aware that the 17th falls after the holiday when putting that date so deliberately on the website; idk if that means they prepared in advance to send today, but that's a possibility! But then again they also specifically say by the 30th in other places-- feels like it could be any day at this point.
  6. Anyone else barely sleeping in anticipation? Hopeful that the results come out today!
  7. Thank you so much -- it is my first time applying and I appreciate the sense of community I've gotten from posts like these. I feel fortunate to even be an applicant among a group of such humble thinkers.
  8. If Monday is a Holiday, is it possible we will receive notification on the 17th (Tues.)?
  9. Does anyone know (based on webinars, experience, etc.) what the selection committee is looking for with "community engagement" for US student research grants? I am have university affiliation, and would plan on matriculating into the student body + the ethnographic component of my research is sort of inherently community engagement. Maybe they want to know if I'll volunteer or teach in the community? I'm sort of at a loss... and it was recommended on the website to include this in the Statement of Grant Purpose so I'm definitely concerned! If anyone has any thoughts, I'd be so grateful for advice!
  10. I'm starting to look into PhD programs that offer (either formally or informally) some type of intersection between medical and STS anthropology. I'm not applying until the Fall 2018 cycle, so I have lots of time! Most of my undergraduate training and research experience is with med anthro, but my real heart-strings are pulled by STS and the relationship between the two. In my preliminary research, it feels like my options are, for the most part, ultra-above-me prestigious (HASTS). My two questions are, 1) does anyone have any suggestions for any comparable but also attainable programs, and 2) does anyone know if it is possible to apply with the hopes of working with PIs across institutions? Or is that a dumb idea?
