So has everybody made their decisions?

Hi everyone, I'm trying decide between two MA offers. The first has offered me significant funding, it's in my field but it's a small department that's not well known. The second is in a highly ranked program in the city I want to be in and with considerable career development and networking opportunities (I'm not looking to do a PhD), but it's not funded at all. There is the opportunity to apply for an RAship but it's not guaranteed and wouldn't fully cover tuition. I feel my fit is much better and there's a much broader scope of course offerings here than at the smaller, funded department. Consensus seems to be that if it's not funded, don't do it but wanted to get some insight. I'm really leaning towards the unfunded offer - it's only a year. Thoughts?

Those are the schools I'm trying to decide between, the funding at queens is very attractive but I'm really unsure about moving to Kingston, I prefer the city vibe. Guess I'll be doing the homework PoliPixie suggested to learn more about my fit and make the best decision. Polis, let me know what you end up deciding. Also, which subfield at u oft did you apply to?

Wow Congrats!! 15k is an unreal funding offer for Munk that's amazing! When did you hear from them if you don't mind me asking?

Hi everyone! Long-time lurker here - congrats to everyone who's gotten acceptances so far! Visited this forum yesterday afternoon and had several successive heart attacks to see that Canadian masters acceptances were starting to be received by some people and then that Polis had hear back from Queens, which was one of the schools I applied to. Lo and behold - a few hours I got my first acceptance email from Queens Global Development Studies!! Wondering if anyone else here has applied to or hear back from that program? They've offered me $15,000 in funding - made up of a grad award and a TA-ship. Is this seen to be competitive funding for a Canadian program? I'm a bit of a n00b so appreciate any insight Anyone waiting on York, UofT, or Munk? (or...god forbid already heard??) Wishing everyone good luck in this crazy time of our lives!
