  1. Me too! I'm actually VERY interested in Foreign Service (currently studying for the test) but I don't think I'll be very qualified academically for it. But I wrote my heart out on that essay.
  2. Did anyone apply for either of the fellowships (that they sent out in the emails)? I also have a pretty pathetic quant background so I'm SUPER excited to learn more about economics. It'll be like having another undergraduate major. If I end up going, that is.
  3. My letter didn't mention my concentration at all :/ anyone else?
  4. I got into the DC campus. Oh gosh guys, I'm so scared this is a mistake!! AGHHHHH.
  5. I've got nothing here either guys. Don't worry, I don't think decisions have gone out yet for anyone.
  6. I got rejected from SIPA so not expecting much from SAIS (straight out of undergrad, not much experience) but still a bit nervous. I'm drinking a soda right now(which I haven't done in about 3 years) haha. Coping mechanism
  7. I don't know if this is helpful, but on their blog, it said that they offer students way more funding that they have. Let's say they have $1 million available in funding. But they offer $2 million to students because they know that not everyone who is offered funding will take it. Because they are offering money that they don't have in reality, people who reject funding don't actually make the money available. Good luck to everyone though, wishing you all the best!
  8. Columbia made it pretty clear that 1st year students don't get funding right? They said only 10% do and then 70% of all of those that apply 2nd year do (for an average of $20,000). I will probably apply again after a few more years of work experience but I know that getting funding is very unlikely so will probably look for external options.
  9. I got a rejection from SIPA today. I was kind of expecting it- but still had a sliver of hope ^.^ fresh out of undergrad and no experience. Life goes on! Relieved to know and had I gotten in, I probably would NOT have passed up the offer, getting me into a lot of debt, haha. (Trying to see the positive in this, guys).
  10. Anyone apply to this school? I applied as a back up and received admission way back at the end of January, along with some funding. I'm still waiting to hear back from a couple of DC schools but does anyone have any insights on BU? Any old alumni lurking around?
  11. I wonder when we hear about endowed scholarships? Or is that the same thing as what has been already offered? Anyone from last year have any clues? I got into another program (BU) with funding so it's looking like Korbel has been crossed off my list :/
  12. Yes, it's really nice knowing someone (or a lot of people) are going through the same thing ^.^
  13. I applied for both but my video one was a bit of a hot mess, actually. I still tried. Most of the videos students posted were them talking for 3 minutes with a web camera so I didn't feel too bad.
  14. I just checked my application page. No change at all. I read that too, for last year but I don't see any buttons anywhere. I feel like I submitted my application years ago. Did you apply for any of the fellowships (the video one and Crossley)?
  15. Seriously! They had a whole extra 24 hours this year too. Tsk tsk
  16. You guys think today is the day? People heard late Feb last year so strange decision haven't come out yet. Maybe they are trying to "keep up" with the DC schools in posting their decisions later and later
  17. I had the exact same feeling too. I guess we will find out soon enough. Keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck to you!
  18. I am! Except... not really all that interested in going to Korbel haha. But I'll go if that's the only place I get in. I know they were interviewing people for the Sie fellowship last week. I didn't get an invite to interview, so super sad about that.
