Before I make my decisions at other schools, I am waiting on Miami of Ohio. Anyone turning down a PhD in Rhet/Comp offer from Miami Ohio? Send me a message if you can.

Unfortunately, no one knows for sure until you hear yourself. Although others have been accepted/waitlisted/rejected, I've heard nothing (according to some that means I am high on the list so they are waiting for first round replies for those who have been accepted)--but who knows. Those who have seen rejected/accepted online, could someone copy and paste the link where you saw this information. I am afraid that I may be checking in the wrong place possibly since I have heard nothing. THANKS in advance!

I am rhet/comp and still have not heard anything as of yet. My status still says "under review" on the website.

woolfie, When did you hear you were rejected from both at OSU? My status on the applynow website still says AcademicReview.

As I know everyone is worried about applications, I wanted to post this message I received from OSU TODAY: "Thank you for contacting the Department of English regarding the status of your application. All applicants have not been notified of their application status at this time; the Admissions committee is making its final decisions this week so that the status of your application to the program will be updated by the Graduate Admissions office within the next couple of days." The emphasis is mine, but rest assured, everyone does NOT know yet about their status from Ohio State. Good luck to us all!

Just think...In Ohio, many schools' stipends are between $13K and $18K. Although cost of living is lower, it isn't THAT much lower as an apartment (even shared) eats up most of that.

Some BG Rhetoric and Writing acceptances have gone out. I received my along with an assistantship, YAY! Still waiting on the others...but good to know some Rhet/Comp are getting out there!

Kudos on applying for so many programs. My husband and I realized I couldn't move too far from home for us to afford a program, so I am really banking on one of these!

Has anyone started receiving acceptances/rejections from any Composition and Rhetoric PhD programs. I applied to Ohio State, Purdue, Bowling Green, and Miami of Ohio, and none of them seem to be contacting anyone about acceptances or rejections. Please tell me someone is hearing something about Rhet/Comp PhDs!
