  1. Im really sorry. When I get rejections my world kind of shrinkS and I see it smaller. But then I gotta shake myself and get some perspective back. There are a lot of opportunities out there and no one will get everything. Keep your spirit high.. It will come through.
  2. I see. That could be one possible reason. It is often hard to trace and find the exact decision making process. My friend in his second attempt last year got a very low rank with more or less the same application which was in fact better than the first year. However, in his first attempt he was ranked 5 and only one below the award limit. You have another year to finesse your application and package your experience section in way that for them does not seem inconsistent. Keep your spirit high.
  3. Congratulations!
  4. From previous years comparison, it changes drastically between committees and the number of candidates in the pool. Your committee must have been ranked higher in the spectrum so the way they ranked the media it must have been higher? Im an artist so math is not my prime :))
  5. I actually think anyone who is ranked one or two below the award limit should start a letter and petition and circulate it around. Many folks get Vanier or SSHRC. They decline the award, thus, where is that money??
  6. I truly believe there should be a petition to FRQSC for having waitlist. It just does not make any sense. SSHRC has it, why not FRQSC? it is simply unfair.
  7. Im sorry to hear that.. Fingers crossed for SSHRC. What was your Committee?
  8. Just got my letter. I can not believe this. I was ranked 1st in Visual Arts (12A). What...? I DID NOT EXPECT THIS AT ALL...... Here is the break down: CompeĢtences (50) : 44,50 Projet de recherche (50) : 43,60 Total : 88,10 % shocked and SO GRATEFUL. Don't give up friends, I am in my third year.
  9. I have had 2 friends (film studies) who got the award in their 4th year, less money but it is doable and possible.
  10. I am quite anxious too. I barely slept and am thinking if it is an error. I have taken screen shots of the award section for future proofs, just In case:))
  11. You will get through it and it will be great at the end. I am in my third year at Concordia's Huma department and my committee was Visual Arts.
  12. congratulations! I only have the Manage you Finance section and in it there is the decision "Retenue pour financement." No letter as of now..
  13. I have applied to many grants, big and small. Nothing happened for 3 years, this year finally went through. I almost had a mental breakdown this winter. I was not even sure if is worth continuing my PhD. It is mentally and financially challenging, but do not let any of this selection processes in which one loses their sense of touch to reality get in your way and disturb you from moving forward. Next year, next applications, next projects you will only get better and you will only get to find other ways to recalibrate your projects. If we were in an egalitarian society in which research and knowledge production was deemed more valuable we would all have been less nervous when it came to a basic income and finance system to simply do research. I send you good energies, don't give up.
  14. This is insane. I was so nervous for 7 months with my finding ending in August I was on the verge of total breakdown. So grateful for this.
  15. I think there are delays in general because the Repertoire also says that they will publish the results later and go to your FRQNet Portal for results.
