What are the odds? 10 prgrams, 1 interview, 1 acceptance. SIGH. Looks like I'm going to SFAI for Sculpture!! Couldn't be happier! Weird part: they sent my acceptance letter to the address I was living at in summer of '08 when I first requested info from the school. WEIRD. My friend's mom had to call to tell me. Need to confirm/give 'em $ by March 30. I haven't heard from MICA or RISD definitively, but heard sculpture interviews are over. No word from Cranbrook, SFSU. Rej via online status from CCA Sculpture yesterday, from VCU a while back. Rej via letter: SAIC, CalArts, Indiana University (SoFA). Signing off then, and pondering the move from Baltimore to SanFran.

To anyone who was waiting on MICA/Rhinehart (like myself), I found out that they are currently interviewing people, so I assume that I've missed the boat on that one too. Meltdown

Wow! Interview at Yale! Congrats! I'm waiting to hear from Columbia as well, and also from RISD, MICA, CCA, Cranbrook and then a couple state schools. Got rejected from SAIC and CalArts, had my interview at SFAI. I would have thought I'd have heard from the others by now, but I'm not sure what their timeline is. Also, competitive places. The desire just to know something is gnawing at me. Let us know what you hear and good luck!!

Hey 000era, Since there seem to be very few posts on here from sculpture applicants, I was wondering where you applied and where you've gotten interview requests so far.... I applied to lots of places and haven't heard from many, so I'm wondering if I've missed the boat.

Elaine, Unfortunately, it seems as if a lot of people get that offer. I did (sculpture MFA) and my friend, who got rejected as a photo candidate last year, also got the offer. It basically is an opportunity to build your experience/portfolio to increase your chances of getting into an MFA program in the following year. It's ususally a one-year program (don't think that's variable), but I have heard that it actually does increase your chances significantly (I heard MICA MFA students haveing a panel discussion about it and tons of them were prior Post-Bac students. On another note, where are my sculpture people? I am anxiously waiting to hear from many schools and haven't heard much from other sculpture candidates. I heard one person got a RISD interview.... anyone else (sculpture) have news on RISD, CCA, VCU, MICA.... ? Let me know!!
