I'll be attending Caltech from September. This will be my first time living away from home and I am quite young, so I will probably live on-campus. are there any past or prospective Caltech students that have opinions to offer on the Catalinas/Avery House?
Cornell is a very good school (especially in topology, mathematical physics and logic - recursion theory in particular), though possibly more selective than its reputation warrants. Ithaca is a very nice place (despite the cold), but fairly isolated.
I have not yet received any news from UCLA, and they have not replied to an email I sent over a week ago. Are there others in this situation? There are both acceptances and rejections posted on the results page.
ebaranov: Congratulations on your excellent results! Have you declined Caltech's offer yet? I ask because I am on their wait list and very keen to go there.
