  1. @ruth: I was! Michelle from the midwest. I thought it might be you. It was great chatting with you that day, and I hope this is where you decide to go! @Rolando: Thank you!! This is indeed the school I've been anxiously waiting to hear from. Can't believe the wait is finally over. @Sophiab: Thank you! Seems like the excitement is catching all around this great forum. Congratulations to you all once again! (and sorry for the excessive use of exclamation points) lol
  2. YES!! Congrats!! Is this a strong contender for you.... and were you by chance at cranbrook on the friday interview day?
  3. OMG. I just got accepted at Cranbrook!!!! I can't stop smiling.
  4. Thank you, Jestem! I've been thinking the same thing, actually. I'm surprised that so few people on here want to study at Cranbrook. I was originally really wary of the program because it encourages such a liberal approach to art making (and I come from a really structured corporate background). After visiting and investigating the philosophy of the school, however, I feel like it's the perfect fit. I'm already really comfortable in a certain sector of design, so why not dive into the challenge of a program that pushes you to self-direct and explore new avenues. Here's hoping... Should know by Monday!
  5. Thanks, Ruth! I'm head over heals for the program at Cranbrook, so of course its the only school i've applied to that hasn't released decisions yet. The wait is KILLING me! so anxious.. I saw that you're in GD too... which schools are you interested in?
  6. Don't give up! I went through the same thought process when I heard that two of my schools were interviewing and I hadn't been contacted... Nevertheless, I was just offered an outright position at one and an alternate position at the other. Not all schools interview every potential candidate, so you may still be in the running. Good luck!
  7. That's amazing! Congrats on getting your first choice!! SO happy for you
  8. I don't see why it would hurt to call. Shows them that you're really interested and gives you an exact idea of where things stand. Good luck to you!!
  9. Thanks! I'm pretty excited. It's great to finally receive responses, no matter the answer. Seems like all of the other disciplines announced decisions much faster than GD. Good luck to you, too! Hopefully your wait won't last much longer. Both came in the mail... I'm in the midwest, so I'm not sure how that factors into wait periods.
  10. Ahhh! Just got into SVA and was notified that I'm an alternate at MICA! What a morning. This brings me to: Accepted: SVA CalArts CCA Alternate: MICA Pending: Cranbrook - interview RISD
  11. That's fabulous! If only they would hurry up....
  12. Well.... If I had to choose at this very moment, I guess I would lean toward CalArts. There is a particular faculty member that I'm interested in studying with, and I feel more vested there bc I met with students and faculty in person during the interview process. The studio resources are also phenomenal across departments. Honestly though, I'm holding out for an answer from a school that hasn't released decisions yet, so I'm not extremely committed to either of these places. Sorry I can't be of more help!
  13. Just got into CalArts GD as well!! So far: Acceptances: CalArts CCA Interviews: Cranbrook SVA Pending: MICA RISD Crazy... can't wait to hear from the rest!
  14. Hey! I interviewed for the same program. Good luck to you. Keep us posted!
  15. Hi November, I interviewed at SVA last week and have met a few ppl who are interviewing there this week. I'm not sure if this is standard across all departments, but they are supposed to send out final decisions between April 1 & 3. Good luck as the next few weeks wind down, and especially with your upcoming Tyler interview!
  16. Has anyone interviewed at Cranbrook yet? I've heard that it's a 6-7 hour intensive process, and I'm started to get nervous! Would love to hear your thoughts if you've been through it before. Thanks!
  17. Hi, I'm sorry but I'm not sure if SVA interviews are done across all departments. It seems like each school/department is different, so I doubt there's any way to know for sure. Best of luck with your applications!!

  18. April 1st can't come soon enough, right? I'm so ready to hear news, make decisions and know once and for all where I'll be next fall! news so far... Accepted: CCA Interviews: Cranbrook, SVA, CalArts No word: RISD, MICA
