Hello! I discovered this forum only a fortnight ago, have been lurking ever since, and wanted to pop-in to thank you all for sharing your experiences on your Fulbright journey. The kindness and consideration people have shown to each other, and to future Fulbright applicants, despite the potential for competitiveness is a great testament to the solidarity of this particular community. I am very grateful for people's generosity and openness, and for the work everyone has put into updating the Google Doc and keeping records. Thank you all.
As for myself, I am on the other side of the Fulbright equation, having applied to carry out research in the US next year. Last year's candidates found out before St Patrick's Day, so I am a little bit beside myself with nerves at this point.
Best of luck to all those who will be scattering to the four winds on Fulbright awards! And fingers crossed for those awaiting news still.

Not going to lie, this kind of made me tear up a little bit. You guys are all so amazing and brilliant - couldn't be more thankful to embark on this journey with you!

I'm thinking it will be tomorrow! I think Indo is announcing on a Friday based on their patterns (although this year patterns don't seem to hold much weight) and well just kinda gotta feeling.

Going to have a drink tonight for this forum. I have never been so engaged in a dialogue with as much momentum as i did this. Everyone here was so friendly and helpful, and reminded me of why i chose to pursue graduate school in the first place. To be surrounded by like-minded scholars such as you guys makes the world of a difference in me continuing to work hard and strive for higher education. Also, that google spreadsheet was impressive. Wow! The force is real. If the planets are aligned right, I hope to run into some of you in the future.

Just got notified - I got the research Fulbright to Germany!!!!!! Best possible news to wake up to here on the West coast <3 SO HAPPY!

As a teacher in an underserved community, I work with refugee and undocumented students everyday. Hearing their stories--and theyre journey--to the U.S. is heartbreaking. My colleague from Syria got me Lebanese food soooo good!

I couldn't agree more- and I was lucky to be notified on the early side. I really hesitated to become a part of this forum, but I am so glad I did. This is a lovely group of incredibly supportive CRAZY people trying to shake up our lives by engaging with people around the world! Way to think outside the box my partners-in-crime!!! Thanks for also being willing to enter into discussion just to wait with the rest of us for so long...

I can't explain the joy it brings me to witness all of your successes on this forum. This wait is excruciating but if nothing else, one perk of being notified late April is the happiness I get to watch until then!

Still can't believe that I got two emails yesterday! I'm going to Colombia 

My personal statement discussed my experiences as an immigrant crossing the border. And with all the recent changes in administration, I feel ya. 

I got Peru research!!!! ?? 

When you're waiting on Colombia, and you see that Panama, Ecuador, and Peru were all notified today....
