1. Hey there, Im new to this forum. But i recd an offer from BU on the day you'd posted this. Im waitlisted for financial aid. But i just wanted to know, how is the BU anthro prog rated. My interest is in nature-society interactions and my proposed supervisor is Robert P. Weller. I have another offer from UNC-CH for the Geog prog and they're giving me aid. Do you know anyone who's already in the prog and what they have to say about it? Thanks
2.

I emailed them and they said the same thing, that they can only tell by march end. So still waiting
3. Thanks 92nats you are a good kind soul This is really helpful.
4. Hey this is helpful, in a way Coz i was stressing over this a lot. Does anyone have any idea about the funding package, size of the cohort? anything? for development sociology that is.
5. Hey there, mabel here. Im new to the forum but was kinda relieved to see that there are other anxious souls like me (quite oxymoronish) Ive applied to rutgers and duke for anthro. Is it true that if you havent heard from them by now, that you havent made it. Others seem to be getting called for interviews and have even been accepted. Should i just give up now?
6. hey guys, /mabel here i'm new to the forum. I am an international student and had applied to a couple of schools in the US n UK for geog n anthro. Needed some advice. I got through Leeds and Reading in the UK, but they're a stingy lot and m still waiting to hear abt scholarships. In the US, Ive got through UNC-CH with funding for the first year, but they've said and i quote, "although we cannot guarantee awards for more than one year at a time, it is our intention to continue funding you throughout the period of your graudate prog. subject to ....(funding, your performace etc.)". Its $15000 for 9 months but i have to pay health insurance at $875 per semester (which is a lot converted in my currency) and I've been accepted at UIUC too but theyll get back on the funding in 2-6 weeks time. Any opinions? Is UNC-CH making a good deal? Can i negotiate for insurance? UNC-CH Vs. UIUC which is better...phew..thats a lotta questions i know..any kind soul out there with some answers?
