It's my understanding that Ottawa does not have formal interviews. Informal (1-on-1 with potential supervisor) only. -

Perhaps! I could be mistaken/mixed up about the interview itself and hearing about it. -

Really great to hear your experience/perspective. As someone who has a Master's degree as well as work experience as a research assistant, I think both have a lot to offer. Personally, I published based on my work as an RA but did not based on my master's - so I think it might vary or depend on the PI you work for. I like that you've brought up some other relevant variables. I do believe that it's important to think more about the context (e.g. $$, lifestyle) when making these decision, as well. Hope that helps! -

My thoughts/opinion.... I think it's worth reflecting on wether you are also interested in the research topics/coursework of these other programs. If you are, then it's definitely worth it!! Would you be happy taking those programs if they didn't help lead to a clinical psych degree later? If no, then it might not be a good fit. If the masters degrees are worthy education for you, then it could be a huge bonus if they also help lead to a clinical degree later - but if that's you're primary/only motive then I would put some more thought into it (in my personal opinion). -

Just a friendly reminder to those that may be receiving rejection letters..... There are so many additional amazing career opportunities that exist out there!! Not being accepted into a program this year doesn't mean you won't have a fulfilling career. You can apply again, and the time until then is not time wasted. :) ❤️ -

At the end of my interview, I was told that there WILL be a clinical psych interview day in Feb! So, I don't think things have changed! -

From what I understand, you cannot resubmit transcripts. Once your application is submitted, it's final. You could, however, directly email the update versions of your transcripts to your POI if you feel it's important. Hope that helps! -

I've heard the same thing re second choice. It really is helpful information to know! Essentially, you are applying to the prof listed as #1. -
Found this on the UOttawa clinical psych program website: 'The decisions of our Admissions Committee for an initial round of admission offers will be communicated to each applicant offered admission before March 15, 2022. Applicants who are made an offer in this initial round must indicate their acceptance by April 15, 2022. Applicants who are made an offer of admission in a subsequent round of offers must indicate their acceptance within one month of the date of the offer." I suspect this means there will be offers to waitlisted applicants that are sent in late April 2022. Just a thought!

If you're comfortable, do you mind sharing your POI with me via direct message? -
Would anybody be able to tell me where conference presentations belong under in the categories for research contributions? SSHRC's website indicates that conference presentations are an example of referred research contributions. The caveat is that they also state that to be considered peer reviewed, research contributions must have been reviewed in it's entirety, not just in abstract form. Most academic conferences just look at abstracts. Am I the only one who is stuck with this problem? Thanks to anyone who can help
